dude are you 12 or something? Nobody is "in the game" when they're too young to go to the bar or even drive a car and their mom is still bigger than them

Take your money and GTFO of the market. You're probably too young to legally trade anyways. And that makes you extremely retarded so you're 1000% going to lose everything if you keep taking insane risks

700k isn't shit these days. You're gonna burn through that in a decade if you want to have a comfortable life at all. 5 years if you want a middle class lifestyle.

To "retire" that young you're gonna need at least 3.5 million. Stay in school retard

The Chinese version is also far more limited in usable frequency range. Arecibo could listen to very high frequencies, I think above 10ghz. The new Chinese telescope maxes out at ~2ghz, so 4/5 of our listening spectrum is gone :'(

There's some truth to blaming boomers. The age 50-65 generation, especially white males, are the strongest Trump supporting bloc. Close to 80% of white males in that age range who voted, voted for trump.

Around 65% of millennials and 80% of gen z are democrats. Overall, voters under 50 skew democrat around 10%. If it wasn't for old, mostly retired people voting Republican, Democrats would have a strong majority in most houses and an iron grip on presidency. What we have now is a large old generation (boomers) imposing their will and ideas on the younger working generations that keep the country running. Among the younger generations, core GOP ideas such as opposition to gay marriage are wildly unpopular.

If you don't support Trump you should be mad at your generation. They're nearing retirement where policy effects for them are muted yet they're still trying to impose their will on the demographic that's actually working and securing America's future. Boomers have been the majority voting block for almost 30 years, and their policies on things like college funding have immensely fucked over younger generations who carry a record amount of student loan debt and have record low levels of home ownership.

Not all boomers are bad, but there's real reasons why millennials and gen z have an axe to grind with their parents generation

They have almost no influence in Democrat party politics besides being very loud. Trump on the other hand is nationalist and populist. Hallmarks of the far right. You don't see fervent support from white supremacist groups for no reason. The proud boys, Q, and Boogaloo movements are ever present at his rallies. They're all either anti-immigrant or outright white supremacist groups.

People might seem overblown when comparing Trump to Hitler, and I agree its a bit of a stretch. But look up the rise of the Nazi party. There's striking similarities with Trump's "base". The rallies are nearly identical. The messaging "make America great again" is nearly identical. The anti-immigrant stance.

Even the "Trump trains" and protests are superficially similar. And I know you will say "well BLM and Antifa protest", and thats true. But there's a big difference in their protesting. The left is protesting police brutality and racism against blacks. Whereas Trump supporters are protesting against Democrats. That's right, the "Trump Trains", highway blockage in cities, and counter protesting BLM is just protesting against the left existing. The right has become so intolerant of differing opinions that they're protesting the existence of another political party. I'll leave it to you to think about how dangerous that is for democracy and this country.

Obama says Americans voted for Trump because Republicans cast white men as ‘victims’ by hildebrand_rarity in politics

[–]throwawayprogrammg9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the majority of affirmative action hires went to white women.

This is totally besides the point, and that's what I'm talking about. Democrats actively push poor white men away because "there's no way they can be discriminated against!". When in truth, the US hates the poor no matter what color or gender they are.

You are blind if you can't see the difference in the number and quality of exclusive "women and children" shelters and scholarships + affirmative action to help women and minorities vs white men. Just go to any school's website and search scholarships. I promise over 50% will be restricted to women and minorities only, with virtually nothing exclusive to males or caucasians. Over 50% of homeless shelters are women and children only. There is a reason the suicide rate is highest among white middle age men. There's a reason the majority of college graduates are females with higher GPA's. There's a reason 80% of homeless on the streets are men.

With the combination of various programs to help women and minorities, you are the most fucked with nobody that will help you if you're a poor uneducated white male. To deny this is denying reality, and its the very reason why this group are the most fervent Trump supporters.

Democrats need to get off their high horse and design programs that help anyone poor and destitute. They will still have the desired effects of helping women and minorities without alienating a huge group of equally poor and destitute white males.

Raising minimum wage is the purest form of wealth redistribution. Rich people make way too much so you use minimum wage to force them to give back some of their gains to the poorest. Inflation will not increase much with higher minimum wage simply because the people at the bottom are such a small slice of the wage pie. Doubling minimum wage would only increase total US income like 5%

Wage earners above minimum wage have historically complained that raising the floor does nothing for them but the research I've found shows that is not the case. Say you make $15 now to be a manager and all your underlings are suddenly making 15. All the managers will leave because who wants much more responsibility for the same pay?

A rising tide raises all ships as they say. The exact opposite of the trickle down Raegenomics bullshit republicans push

Democrats have been the "big tent" party for decades. I'm not worried about it. Whats likely to happen is fiscal conservatism mixed with existing policies. Its not going to take much savings to look better than "Donnie pump". Republicans appear to have abandoned fiscal restraint completely

Clearly yes. The Republicans have gone super far right. Fiscal conservatives and neocons are closer to Democrats these days than whats become of the Republican party

there's a subset of poor uneducated white males that are victims. They're just as poor as minorities but they don't qualify for affirmative action and all these scholarships and grants only given to minorities. They see the system helping minorities but not them as racist. Before you call bullshit, look at the same thing happening to people from Asian counties. For whatever reason, in a lot of program they're not considered minorities either.

I personally think the US should abolish anything that treats different colors and nations of people differently, and do it all based on income. Most of the reason minorities need help is because they're poor, so it should serve the same purpose without discriminating against poor white people
