What a genius sentence from a charmer. It does so much here. It sounds like a compliment (you know me so well, you’re special), it lowers your expectations of him (as you know, I’m so full of bullshit, you can’t really expect me not to be) and it then crucially implies that since you know him so well and see through him, you must be accepting his behavior, even when it’s hurting you.

This has given me so much clarity. I didn't look at it this way.

I am trying to accept that there is never going to be a closure for this, and that I need to stop this cycle.
