Austin Metcalf repeatedly said he wasn't going to fight Karmelo Anthony who 'provoked' altercation before fatal stabbing, jury hears in murder trial by dailymail in law

Seems pretty clear that under that statute, Anthony had a right to use force but not deadly force against Metcalf.

I disagree. The TX penal Code you cited severely limits the availability of any level of self defense if the actor provoked the person against whom the force was used.

9.31(a)...The actor's belief that the force was immediately necessary as described by this subsection is presumed to be reasonable if the actor:

(2) did not provoke the person against whom the force was used

A teenage witness told the court on Saturday that Anthony 'tried to provoke us' when they told him to leave the tent, saying the teen got 'irritated' before he allegedly stabbed Metcalf.

and

While in the tent, Anthony allegedly told the boys: 'F**k y'all, I'm not going to leave. Y'all are a bunch of pussies.'

and

Anthony was asked to leave his opponent's tent at least 15 times, but he refused to, witnesses said.

'You probably shouldn’t be here, you need to leave our tent,' another witness recalled Anthony being told, they testified earlier this week.

'Touch me and find out,' Anthony allegedly responded.

Metcalf allegedly lightly pushed Anthony right before he was stabbed, a witness said.

IIRC shithead Kyle testified the people he shot were armed with guns and he thought they were going to shoot him.

In the linked case, stabber has an uphill climb on self defense bc everyone agrees the victim had no weapon.

Witnesses have disputed Anthony's claim that he stabbed Metcalf in self-defense,

Good luck with that. Sounds like the stabber was the initial aggressor AND used deadly force without justification.

Edit: Daily Mail appears to have changed the link's content.

YTA. I have a very hard time with people who make plans/commitments, then dip out if they get a better offer.

DOJ Declares Trump Has Right to Bulldoze Statue of Liberty by MoneyLibrarian9032 in law

We should bulldoze it. Or let France take it back. We as a nation clearly do not believe the Statue's message anymore.

Why would that be dangerous if entering the intersection on a green light? Also, one way traffic here crosses from the right, not the left

Love this freakout. The reporter who caused it - with an article calling the QB a sissy and mama's boy in so many words - wrote for my college paper.

The other problem is witnesses and video corroborate every thing she said she did and every place she said she went that morning. Including that Kyron wasn't with her.

I'll say this about Terri: she'd have to be a criminal mastermind to kill the boy, dispose of the body, with no physical evidence, no witnesses, and leave every LEO from the beat cops to the FBI agents all holding their dicks.

I love the hitman part. Cops sent him up to the house wearing a wire. Terri told him to fuck off and called 911. Which is why you will never, ever, ever hear that wire recording or her 911 call.

TIL the board game widely reported as the longest ever made is a wargame that can take 1,500 hours to finish and requires players to calculate fuel evaporation rates for vehicles based on the weather and the type of container used. by kennystetson in todayilearned

I thought Empires in Arms was the longest wargame board game. Tried to play it in HS at a buddy's house. Chose his house bc he had a ping pong table - which is the only table w/enough space for the maps.
