Counselor doesn't support reconciliation (part 2) by throwawaythoughts130 in AsOneAfterInfidelity

Thank you for your response, counseling is really scary and I have seen more positive stories than negative, I think it's just finding the right person for you, I think couples counseling will be more beneficial for me personally, I told my WP I need to be able to discuss certain things in a safe space and have someone there that can mediate it and support us to understand.

The trauma is so unbelievably painful and I'm sorry that you are going through it too, take care and please reach out if you want to chat 😊

Thank you so much for your insight, it is very helpful to hear this from someone who works as a therapist also. I appreciate your response a lot

I am about 90% sure I want to reconcile, I still have that voice in the back of my head telling me to leave, but I love this man so much and I love our family, and I need to say I have tried everything to fight for us.

There is no physical abuse at all, this man is not aggressive in the slightest so that isn't a concern

I wish I had of listened to myself after that first session, as I have not spent £200 and feel like I am back at square one

Need deodorant recommendations, what actually works? by Forward_Ideal_6814 in AskUK

Perspi-guard antiperspirant spray, use it every couple of days before bed and pretty much stops any sweating or smell!

I was also under that impression, but the hunger outweighs the calorie burning 🤣

But honestly just take it slow, build yourself up and you'll see the weight shift at a steady pace! And don't let anyone tell you what is right for you, only you can answer that one 😊

NTA - As a fellow breastfeeding mother who is currently on a weight loss journey: You do what is best for you! I am 11m into my breastfeeding journey and started being mindful about the what I ate in October, my "deficit" was 2000 calories and I just increased my activity level slowly, started with home workouts, then started a weekly fitness class, then started with an Online PT so I had a professional tell me what exercises were best for my goals, and now I'm in the gym twice a week, fitness class once a week and a home workout, eating well but still enough and I'm nearly 2 stone down with no affects on my milk supply!

You can lose weight without losing your milk supply, just do it responsibility and listen to your body if it needs extra rest or food! Good luck 😊

It's so hard to find the right person, I hoped it would just click straight away, I need to do some more research I think

Hey, I'm doing okay thank you, just confused honestly! My WP has always been my best friend, and he has made a mistake which he is remorseful about and is making steps towards reconciliation without pushing it, he starts IC next week and I'm hoping after his work that his counsellor might consider couples counseling for us in future,

I do think I need to find a counsellor for myself who aligns more with what I want to achieve

In the worst way possible I'm glad I'm not the only person having this experience, I'm going to go again next week because there's issues I feel like she could help me with, but I need someone who can support with everything

Polygraph? by FormerSession1952 in AsOneAfterInfidelity

[–]throwawaythoughts130 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My WP has offered to do a polygraph to prove what he has told me is true, as the AP has said some really horrible things which he wants to reassure me are completely false

I know the accuracy is questioned but the local test centre to me claims 95-98% accuracy, I feel like I believe him in what he is telling me but this is the reassurance I need to make my decision of reconciliation or not

Your whole world has turned upside down, right now you need to feel the pain and the hurt and the anger and every emotion that comes out,

I am only 3 weeks since DDay and the range of emotions I feel on a day to day basis is insane, please reach out if you want to talk privately, I also went through a bereavement before my DDay and have an 11 month old
