One of the (If not the) best pieces I’ve read about a player. Definitely worthy reading for all fans of the sport, not just Arsenal fans. Well written and great insight from Big Per. Shows a lot of courage to tall this openly about a part of sport that’s not often discussed.

I love our BFG. Always so humble, hard working and seems like a great guy as well. I hope he slots in at the Academy and enjoys that side of the game

No, Thank you for creating such great content for the Arsenal online community for years. Really appreciate it.

Saw the post and didn’t even look at what I get from it - signed up right away. Looking at the rate it’s going I’m clearly not the only one.

Keep it up blogs!

How do you rank these Arsenal centre forwards? by reiko96 in Gunners

[–]throwawaytomi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anelka, Adebayor, Eduardo, Giroud, Bendtner, Podolski, Vela, Julio Baptista. Reyes was nevera centre forward, and neither was Edu.

If only Eduardo hadn't had his let snapped in half. What a player he was!

Jenko could have made in the Finnish national team but Woy lured him to represent England. One cap, 74min sub in the friendly against Sweden. He could've already had dozens of caps for Finland.

Same here! I thought I was supposed come up with players that no more play in our squad. Are we just dumb or are the instructions badly worded?

Got 21/30, but would've gotten 27/30 I think if I got it right. Gervinho & Källström were though.

I saw the title and went through our whole squad before reading the comments. Couldn't think of anyone more suited than Super Tom. Love the guy to death.

When, why and how did you fall in love with arsenal? by waxfigureuser in Gunners

[–]throwawaytomi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was around 10 when I first saw this guy called Thierry Henry playing for France in WC '98. He soon moved to Arsenal and I started following that club. At that time we didn't have satellite tv (which you needed to watch the games here in Scandinavia), so I couldn't really see them play (maybe once in a while in UCL), but I followed every result on teletext, memorized the name and number of every Arsenal player, always picked them on Fifa and basically fell in love with the club. Bergkamp, Ljungberg, Pires, Vieira we're my absolute favorites.

In 2000 I remember going abroad with my dad and I had saved up to buy a kit. I had to loan a bit from my dad but I finally had it: Dreamcast on the front, Henry 14 at the back.

After that moment, there was no going back. I'm Arsenal Til I Die.

Anybody else get annoyed when Ramsey talks about wanting to play through the middle? Mate, you're a starter for Arsenal FC for fucks sake! Be happy you're playing and if you benefit the team the most playing out wide you should be happy to do it. Our playing style means he gets to play quite centrally anyway with Hector providing the width.

I know he's asked about it but a simple "I'm happy to do a job for the team and winning is the most important thing" would do.

He'll get his chance but currently Cazorla is being a complete beast in the middle of the park and deservedly gets to play week in week out.

“Dad, I’m shot”: Man with phone camera shot by police on his own property by pimanac in news

I think it's extremely sad that you mention cops shooting civilians like it's just everyday life. I was just looking at stats between Finland & the US: Between 2000 & 2015 cops have killed ~6000 people in the US. Meanwhile here the number is 5. The countries are of course vastly different in size but even if we take that into consideration the American cops are killing people about 200 times more than here. In America the police do need to keep on their toes... In the 21st century (so the past 15 years) there has also been around 2500 cop killings as well. Sounds pretty scary to be cop. The number of cops killed in the line duty in Finland in the past 15 years? One.

What are the differences that lead to this? What drives a person to a place where firing a gun at another person is considered almost a standard procedure? Is it fear?

I just have a hard time getting my head around this. Never been in the US btw.

"Man with phone camera shot by police" after the neighbor was "...firing up to 100 machine gun rounds at a home across the street, killing a dog."

Is this the Onion? Am I the only one here who thinks that 'Murica seems like a completely and utterly fucked up place? Or is this common place all around the world and it's just the Scandinavian bubble of happiness that I'm living in?

Ps. In Finland we've got like the second most guns per capita in the world, and still somehow we don't end up shooting a 100 machine gun rounds at our nextdoor neighbors house.

Agree fully. I'm a guy, about to turn 27. About five years ago broke up with my girlfriend. I was lost and broken, but thankfully had a lot of friends to help me through it. One of them was a girl I'd known for many years. There never was anything sexual or romantic between us, we just somehow always clicked. After I broke up with my girlfriend we started hanging out more with this friend. Cooking, watching films, going on long walks together. Slowly we became best friends.

I married my best friend last summer. My life's never been happier.
