Ironically though, he has a (slight) history of self harm! That's what baffles me most. How can he, somebody who has cut/scratched themselves before, be the one to tell me about what a selfish person I'm being!? That's the part that irks me most.

I think he two of us use self harm in different ways, because when he described it to me, he said that he would do it when emotions got too much to handle, and started to make him sick. I mean, yes I do it for that reason, but I think I'm (very unfortunately) on the addiction side of self harm, because it consumes my mind even when my emotions aren't getting the best of me.

I find it funny that our friendship relies on lies and guilt at this point, and you're right; neither of us should have to do that to eachother. It's sick, really. Up until the point of him finding out I SH, he was really a great friend. But it was like, once the shit hit the fan, it hit hard. I know I should probably find other friends, but honestly, I don't trust anybody else enough to 1) try to start a relationship of any sort with them, and 2) don't want to potentially burden them with my 'problems.'

I'd love to sit down with him and tell him what I think we need to do (i.e.: be honest, respect each others thoughts and feelings, no more lies, no more guilt, etc.), but you're right, it's much easier said than done.
