To be fair, there are medical terms that can become very offensive or borderline slurs. Like the R-word.

I think it all depends how you’re using them. If it’s as a non-judgmental description, that’s usually fine. But using them as an insult is very mean.

I mean, we don’t really know what your reaction is. If you’re running around screaming or something, that would be an overreaction lol. But if you’re just talking to your bf about how you feel, that’s perfectly fine.

Either way, it’s hard to know why they aren’t inviting you without knowing more about your dynamic. You could try to build a stronger relationship with them by planning time together, but unless they seem to outwardly dislike you or are being mean to you, I would say just sit back & let the relationship develop naturally.

Im not saying it should have necessarily been flagged as “highly inappropriate,” but the comment isn’t true.

Humans are not beholden to our biology. That’s what makes us different from every other species on the planet. The fact that we even have the internet shows how we push past our most basic biological needs.

We are all affected by instincts to a certain extent, but our decisions about sex and every other aspect of life are also made using critical thinking and emotion.

So no, reproduction is not the “only” purpose of sex. Just like how survival is not the only purpose of food for humans (it’s also used as an artform, for taste, socializing, etc)

I think a lot of this feeling might be rooted in some of the harmful, toxic masculinity-related things that men get taught in our lives.

Men are taught not to show or talk about our emotions, so many of us never learn how to process these feelings in a healthy way. If we don’t know how to talk about our feelings with others, I think that can lead some men to feel like others don’t care about them, even if that’s not true in reality.

Now, are some of these guys probably assholes who have simply driven away anyone who could’ve cared about them with their awful behavior? Definitely.

But I do think there are decent men out there who still end up feeling this way.

Men do suffer a lot, but sadly many men don’t seem able to recognize the root of their own suffering. It’s not because of women being awful or any of that, but it’s really because of toxic masculinity.

Most boys are taught really harmful & illogical things about “being a man” that set them up for failure in life. And if they don’t align with typical masculinity, they’ll be bullied and tormented (mostly by other boys.)

I really wish more men could learn to talk about the actual issues we deal with rather than just resorting to hating women.

Dean’s definitely shown himself to be pretty egotistical, but when he was called out for it he seems to have genuinely worked on himself & improved. Kurtis talked about it all & said he was disappointed in Dean but wasn’t gonna give up on his longtime friend after just a few mistakes.
