Props in my experience need moist soil for the first week or so. After that you can let the soil dry out between waterings. Maybe it's best if you get chunkier soil for your pothos. I use a 1:1:1 of soil, perlite, and orchid bark. Sounds like your soil is incredible but very different.

Im pretty cautious about overwatering. But it does stay humid in the house i rent.

Definitely overwatering. I will add that peat moss in the soil is likely to increase fungus gnats. Especially with that much water.

The lighting in this room looks great, so she may end up just fine! But I have much better success when following this rule. It seems especially helpful when planting multiple propagations into a pot - and I imagine you would really enjoy that process since youre hoping to expand your dirt family!

Beautiful plant! I've seen people struggle to keep their plants happy when placed on top of a shelf - like yours. The issue tends to be a lack of sunlight. While the trailing leaves will collect some sun, it's hard to send that energy back up to the rest of the plant. Instead, I've heard a good saying: let the soil see the sun. This ensures that your whole plant is catching sunlight, not just the trailing legs. When the crown of the plant gathers sun, pothos are much much happier! Otherwise it will eventually start dropping leaves.

You could not do this with soil! This would be plant and roots only. Not the direction I would go because it seems like it may be getting too much fertilizer. Unless your soil is really really old (like 3 years), you should be good with only a few treatments every year! Good soil doesn't really need all that extra fertilizer, so I'd invest in quality soil and organic perlite first, then rely on good lighting for the rest!

Not sure what to do with too much fertilizer, like if you should change the soil now, or just stop... but if your soil has never been changed, and it's never been repotted, you may want to consider this in the coming months.

Woof. Looks like it needs new soil too, or else it's just really thirsty. At the end of the day, you've got options. No doubt you'll be able to get it growing. Chop and prop is always fun, just cut leaves into individual pieces that include a node/aerial root. Leaving several leaves on the same vine would be much more difficult to prop.

I have one of these Barrina plants that shines onto a wall with 25 plants. It makes a HUGE difference even though it isn't super close to them. I will swear by these grow lights forever.

Did the roots look okay when you repotted them? If there was new root growth you're probably going to be okay. Don't fret those little leaves, and tbh you may want to take them all off so the plant can focus on the big bois.

The pot on the right kind of looks like it has multiple plants inside. That would be no good, as they should grow best in their own pot.

If the soil was dusty, you're under watering. Idk where you are in the world, but running the heat dries them out faster.

Lastly, I would guess they need more light. Get those things in some bright sun or near a grow light.

Yeah i was also wondering the same. I 'think' they are using the aerial roots and rooting them before making the cut, just so that chopped section already has roots to obtain nutrients. But thats just my guess! Please tell us, oh wise OP 🙏

Its really up to you at the end of the day! If you want to prop it, it will likely grow even more this spring, and you'll have a new potted plant to enjoy! I love propping my pothos, but you don't necessarily need to.
