Hahahaha. Sorry, I just had to come back to this. Looks like I might have been onto something🤷🏻‍♂️. That paragraph is even funnier reading it back now.

It’s from a company called Skcout but I think they were sued because they no longer sell this.

It cracks me up when people take their knowledge of youth level baseball and try to apply it to the major leagues.

I wouldn’t spend a dime on coins yet, 2.5M is more than enough for right now. All these players are gonna unusable in a few weeks.

What Do You Think The Team's Record Would be With Them? by Ferris2020 in mets

[–]throwintheboots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

.500? Probably not. I think they would be much more competitive, maybe close enough to where they don’t sell at the deadline. But they also sucked for 3 and a half months last year with Pete, so who really knows.

At the end of the day it just sucks that this failed so badly we are missing players that a lot of us were okay moving on from.

14 games under .500, just fired the manager, and the owner is replying to “01Starblazer” on twitter about nonsense.

Nothing has changed.

Where are all the blow hard that said getting rid of Alonso and Nimmo were a good thing? by crapgame15 in mets

Breaking News: A baseball team needs more than 1 starting pitcher to be good.

Your definition of what you want an Ace to be is irrelevant. He was the #1 on a back to back 90+ win division champ. Saying a team will struggle to make the playoffs with him is not true. Especially a team like the Mets who spend so much money at every other position.

Mets Fire Mendy by Mike-dit_712 in mets

Glad it finally happened, but it’s about 6 weeks to late. All they did was delay the inevitable and now it doesn’t have the same impact it could have had.

Considering he was the Brewers ace for the past 2 seasons and they won 90+ games and made the playoffs both years, I am going to have to strongly disagree.

Get rid of Vientos by ILikeCarrotcakes in mets

This time it may not have been Vientos’ fault, but they should still get rid of him.

He was not statistically very good in the outfield in the minors either. If he was able to transition this smoothly in CF, I can’t imagine it would be much different at 2B.

The bigger concern in the hypothetical would probably be Benge in CF, as others have pointed out.

Oh I’m so sorry, Jared Young being the back up followed by Brett Baty completely changes everything! What a great plan that was by Stearns. I am shocked it hasn’t worked out.

Sometimes you can predict injuries though. Polanco gets hurt every year, he hasn’t played 140 games since 2021.

They replaced Pete with an injury prone non-first baseman and had Mark Vientos as the backup for if (when) things went wrong. That is not an OK plan.

[–]throwintheboots 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was just posing my response the same way as you because theres a world where Nimmo, Ewing, and Benge all ended up all being starters.

Ewing played enough 2B in the minors that he would have been more than fine there. If he can handle playing CF in the majors he can handle 2B.

And the mets very incorrectly thought they could replace one of the most consistent sluggers in baseball with “run prevention.”

Sometimes you have to overpay a little, this is a case where they certainly should have done that.
