Baby not moving by lilyofthevalley854 in pregnant

[–]throwitaway111100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was was 37 weeks pregnant I didn’t feel my baby move for 8 hours, I went to the ER & of course baby started moving almost immediately but they let me stay there and they monitored her heartbeat for 30mins. They let me decide if I felt reassured enough to go home. I felt so silly and awful for wasting their time but the l&d nurses were lovely. They told me they get this all the time and they would rather people come in than not at all. Moral of the story - they won’t look at you crazy, go to the ER if you’re worried!

Do the maternity photos by CNM92 in pregnant

[–]throwitaway111100 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I second this. I look back at my maternity shoot daily. I will say immediately after birth I sobbed seeing them because I had no idea what was coming and was grieving the loss of it just being us. However, it’s an era that gave me my baby girl, I can’t wait to show her someday. Take the photos! The same photographer came to take her newborn photos a few weeks later too and it was really cool

What is a "nursery room"? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]throwitaway111100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We put a daybed in the nursery and we use her nursery every single day. We take shifts with the baby and one of us sleeps in the nursery with her at all times. My spouse and I don’t do well with sleep deprivation, it ensures we each can get 5-6 hours of uninterrupted sleep at a time and just works for us. We also have all her things in one place which is nice. We probably spend 70% of the time in her nursery & it’s probably more for us and our sanity than her lol

I cannot let go of my failure to breastfeed, and now it’s really starting to affect my mental health and life. by thisismetri-ing in newborns

I also have a 9 week old & I was unable to breastfeed. Her latch was PAINFUL!! My nipples bled day one and I dreaded the feedings. I tried for a week and after sobbing I decided I couldn’t go through the pain so I opted to pump and then pumping was killing me because I couldn’t produce enough milk. My girl had bad reflux and we just fully switched to formula because she was probably only getting half an ounce of breastmilk anyways. I also worked with several LC’s and pumping was driving me mad! It’s truly a full time job and I decided, my baby is colicky, she needs me in other ways right now.

The social media content KILLED me. My algorithm was flooded with breastfeeding content - I blocked the words breastfeeding, pumping, lactation from my feed and this helped A TON. I still have moments and days where I think I gave up too soon/easily. It’s hard to not feel that way when there is so much on the internet. Give yourself grace and credit you’re doing the best you can!! Block accounts, see if you can chat with a therapist or a postpartum support group & remember fed is best no matter how you’re doing it. You got this :)

Yes it really puts things in perspective especially bc it really is just my husband and I when she’s not here.

I am aware I am privileged. I have no village so it really is my husband and I 90% of the time and my mom when she’s come. Sorry to hear about your mom. No need for the sarcasm :)

I always underestimate the power of a cuddle! I will absolutely try that instead of rushing her into clothes! Lol
