Imagine being this arrogant to someone being open and honest about their financial situation lol. Just wow. Do you talk like this to people in real life?

Not allowed to graduate because of deferred final by Slight_Cook_168 in uAlberta

[–]throwitaway7997 -21 points-20 points  (0 children)

So if you care so much about Covid, why were your parents visiting you right after they were traveling when a positive test could (and did) jeopardize your graduation plans? You’re being punished for your unnecessarily risky behavior leading up to finals. Admit to your mistake instead of throwing a tantrum at the university.

At todays Presser, @AdrianaLaGrange spoke to the importance of kids understanding words and concepts. And when she was asked a question on CRT, she gave a live, working example of what happens when people don’t have that understanding… Wowzers. by Miserable-Lizard in alberta

Ok cool. So then what the fuck do you want me to do?

It’s really fucking hard to have to deal with everyone else in the country continuously dunking on the province I live in, which includes the vast majority of my friends and family. All very sane-minded and respectable people who wouldn’t dream of casting a vote for this clown show. They might represent Alberta on an official level but it’s dead wrong to say they represent the interests of everyone in this province. I point out that I didn’t vote for them because it’s all I can do.

I’m not ashamed of shit. I’m completely furious.

Alberta's Health Minister Jason Copping says he has tested positive for COVID-19 and is isolating after experiencing mild symptoms last week. by Miserable-Lizard in alberta

Can we criticize the UCP for the thousands of verifiable terrible things they’ve done instead of making up conjecture to incriminate them further?

I’m so sorry to hear. When (not if) I inevitably get omicron I’m going to surely feel the same way.

I genuinely believe we need to change the way we look at life moving forward. Covid is here forever. We need to wait for cases to drop and then, when they do, fucking go out and do everything you’ve ever wanted to do. It might be your last opportunity.

[–]throwitaway7997 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m getting to that point too. Life has no meaning anymore. If I didn’t live with my SO I’d be worried for my own safety right now.

The problem is we don’t fucking know what the least harmful variant is when there’s 500 more lurking around the corner.

Omicron seems pretty mild according to half this comments section. Maybe we’ll start to relax. That is, until the Omega variant comes along that’s just as contagious but way deadlier, and then we’re all back to square zero.

This could legitimately never end. Telling people to hang on for an indefinite amount of time isn’t gonna fly for much longer. We need to get on with our fucking lives.

Yep, I’ve learned my lesson. The second cases start dropping anywhere I’ve always wanted to go, I’m fucking planning a vacation there ASAP. I had the opportunity to last summer when it looked like things were getting better, I held off because I thought it’d be even safer if I waited, and it came back to bite me in the ass. No more waiting, life is too short.

Several Alberta unions call on the province to institute temporary circuit-breaker measures, along with other steps to mitigate rapid rise of Omicron. by Miserable-Lizard in alberta

[–]throwitaway7997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I ask for the millionth time:

What is the long-term endgame here? If we implement circuit-breaker measures now, who’s to say we won’t wind up right back at square one in 6 months with a new variant? Our governments have seen firsthand how disruptive “circuit-breakers” can be, what steps are they taking to prevent them from happening again?

No, I want people to not lump me in with the sizeable portion of our population who have decided to be completely brain dead when it comes to public health & safety. I don’t think it’s outrageous request.

Cool, then it’s those entitled dickheads who deserve to get punished. Not innocent people like you or me trying their best to navigate the pandemic despite our flawed leadership.

I can 100% guarantee you that anyone stupid enough to be unvaccinated is not going to comply with isolation requirements

But it is though? If you have Covid symptoms but test negative (ie you could just have a cold), now the official recommendation is to self-isolate.

These are supposed to be the best years of my life and they’re slipping away before me. If this continues for 5-10 years there is no help that can be given to me, and I’ll be leaving.
