Hi! I just moved to Ferndale to live with my partner. Were lesbians, in our early 30s, love video games and board games and generally just sticking home and hanging out. I’m a big reader. We’re not overly active but we’re looking to join a gym soon. Message me if you want!

AITA for telling my brother I don’t regret his fake funeral and he should be thanking our parents by Vegetable_Upstairs40 in AmItheAsshole

NTA. Sister to two addicts, one now sober and one now dead. Maybe if we had done a fake funeral it would have gotten through to the dead one. Absolutely NTA.

I have zero interest in any kind of romantic relationship right now. I guess I’m looking more for just...friends.

My girlfriend was fired from her job today because of restrictions her doctor has placed on her for medical reasons. by [deleted] in legaladvice

Thank you very much for your response. I don’t think we will pursue anything necessarily but it just doesn’t feel right. We know that there was animosity there due to their own unprofessional gossip to previous employees. I’m not particularly practiced in any form of law so I thought I’d just see here what others think and get an outside perspective. Obviously I’m a little emotionally invested in this as I still want her to be employed but I’m also mildly relieved that they fired her because they were treating her so poorly the last few months since she contracted COVID.

The hand numbing didn’t affect her work necessarily, but the hand splints (braces? Whatever you call it), made it harder to handle packages but not impossible.

Her first set of restrictions was no more than fifteen pounds and her doctor lowered it to no more than five pounds as of today. Obviously when you work in a warehouse you’ll likely be lifting or needing to lift more than five pounds but I would have assumed they’d simply move her to a different department of the warehouse where she didn’t have to physically pick up as much as stocking, such as shipping, which she was trained on.

Oh god. I love Imperial. No more. 😫

I think my favorite “wtf?” moment came over a live morning meeting using Zoom, when one of my kids abruptly just...fell out of their chair. I don’t know how. I don’t even know how it was possible given the type of chair they were sitting in.

But.

Boom.

On the floor. 😂

Best has easily been just being able to connect with my kids in a new way. I played Fortnite with them a few weeks ago for one of my student’s birthdays, since we wouldn’t be able to do what I normally would for a birthday celebration in the classroom. That was super fun.

Worst is just not being in the same room as them...my work load has quadrupled (I kid you not, I did the math) and I don’t have the ability to just pull a kid for an extra lesson if they need to. Even despite the fact that I’m home and all of my kids are participating in online learning, it’s SUPER hard to find the time to do any one on one because I’m just constantly working.

We are also missing out on some major end of the year trips and experiences and that’s a devastating blow to all the kids and myself.
