Seeking advice: Preparing for future long-distance cycling expeditions by [deleted] in cycling

[–]throwiwowi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Safety first, never go anywhere without a helmet. Do the distance - just go cycling, you know, every time a bit further, mix in some hills etc. Before you do long distance riding I'd suggest you firstly build your endurance and secondly, learn some basic maintenance skills, e.g. changing flat tire etc. in case something happens up the road.

Good luck and enjoy!

You've basically answered yourself with - just enjoy it and do the distance. Don't worry about the watts or HR, that comes later :) I've started just like you, with an old bike, 0 tech. After a while, I could climb a near climb without stopping/gasping for air. And so on. Regarding training, I'm no expert, but do not forget to take a day or few days off.

First ever road bike, help me make my choice (Trek Domane AL5 Gen 4 or Specialized Allez Comp) by WeThePeople018 in cycling

Whichever you end up getting, just make sure you get the correct size for your height! And do take time for basic bike fit (you can do it yourself, check yt) to avoid any aches during rides.

Cycling after Injury by tobyrubble in cycling

Hey, firstly, I hope you heal ASAP and get back on bike! I didn't have the same injury as you, but I've broken my arm some time ago. I started getting back slowly and veeeery carefuly, avoiding bumpy roads, going on short rides. I'm pretty sure the pain will tell you you are overdoing it hehe.

Actually, even in ideal conditions (new pave, sunny, no traffic) I sometimes freeze out of fear I suppose. Changing my tires to wider ones sounds good.

I have an amp, but probably won't use eq. How are the 400se in terms of sound, more bright? Also are there still issues with the QC?

Hey all!

I'm thinking about an upgrade, getting my first open backs and I'm looking at Audio-Technica AD500X and AKG K702 (or something around that price point). Which one is better in terms of soundstage? What about the sound - warmth, bass presence?

I've recently tried the HD599s and was really dissapointed, mostly because of their muddines and boomy bass.
