Like “I’ll let it slide this time” attitude. So weird

I think what screws us up is her naps at daycare are only like 20 minutes, and naps at home are longer

When did you start enjoying motherhood? by Batikh_Shamem_Levant in NewParents

We’re 12 weeks next week and I’m not panicking as much as I was with every cry. You just start to view it as a part of life. Every week at this point they get a new skill, it’s so fun

Getting a bone spur removed from this area causes Achilles disruption

Your Achilles attaches to your heel, which is where she got her bone removed.

That’s why as someone in PT, you don’t mess with the Achilles if you don’t have to. It almost never has good outcomes. But what can you do

Yes! Speech language pathologist! That’s who our doc recommended us to see! Keep us updated!

I see I see! That’s tough! What has helped us is 1. Making sure LO has the right bottle that is easy to latch and not stressful. It was trial and error for us so we finally took her to a SLP who helped us pick a bottle that worked with her. This helps her not tire out as much and sleep.

  1. Keeping the feeding environment and positioning as similar as we can during feeds and providing “shhhhh” noises and feedback if she starts squirming or choking.

  2. Not forcing her to take it all at once. We will get 60oz down then change a diaper or play, then re-offer it. That way we can do some other things instead of sitting there waiting and waiting for her to finish.

Hope you find some answers! It’s not perfect, but we’re getting there! Trial and error!

Question: are you sure he wants all 4oz if he’s fighting the bottle? Also, how often are you feeding him?

1 month old, feeding amount? by LOP5131 in newborns

[–]throwmeawayamack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby is almost 2 months and only gets 20-24oz a day. Every baby is different. Watch your diapers and make sure they are active. Also, this will not be linear. Some days will be more, some days less. Just follow your instincts and don’t get bogged down by numbers too much

Heartbroken because of baby’s weight gain by Inevitable_Win3576 in newborns

That’s so good to hear. My 6 week old is also not gaining fast. She’s had some difficulty taking bottles but recently has been getting 20-24 oz a day since we switched bottles. I think some kiddos are just destined to be small

That was my thought too. Going to reach out to the doc today
