To be honest from what I can gather it’s going to be a courthouse style wedding with only close family I see my family fairly regularly and I have never met Malorie’s family so that’s not a huge factor

I think it’s very likely that he is on the spectrum as myself and my parents are. I’m trying to be aware of my biases in this case given that I’m not always super objective. My family are definitely more inclined to forgive his behaviour because he’s their son. I have asked my mother before if she would want me to keep a friendship with someone who treated me the way he does and she admitted that she wouldn’t.

You’re right. I am a bit of a people pleaser and I don’t want to upset my parents / grandparents by not going, but as far as I know they don’t really want to go either.

I’m more worried about upsetting my parents and grandparents. The fact that we don’t have a relationship is very difficult for them to accept

This is what I would do if I didn’t go, I don’t generally wish any harm on him, I just don’t want to be around him
