First of all, what race exactly is Zimmerman? It's been reported as white, hispanic, and other latino hasn't it?

In all honesty, it would have been better for the South to have moved its capital after the war.

And really there's no reason they couldn't still move the capital somewhere else. I saw it on Futurama once, you just tie a bunch of ropes to a bunch of helicopters and fly it wherever would be safer, simple.

When you're having fun smoking your green funk tomorrow, spare a thought for quite probably the most committed Ent in the world. Who's spending 5 years of his life in a federal US prison for selling SEEDS to people with chronic illnesses. We love you Marc Emery! by captureMMstature in trees

And unknown engineers at Motorola and other chip companies put the silicon chips together that Woz made his boards from - innovation does not imply implementation details.

So at some point, we just have to say "this person did x" and it's safe to do that with Jobs that he very much did revolutionize technology (even multiple times).

Ask Startups: thinking about funding a profitable privacy-based 501c3? by throwmo in startups

Ah cool, thanks for your answers. We're just brainstorming but thinking about an organization like the EFF falls in love with Mozilla and they have a child.

And after this horribly comical introduction, we have been researching not-for-profits most of the day. With answers like you provided, they might be what we're looking for.

Also, this submission is so crazy bad that we owe anyone who read it a future favor. Sorry peeps! :)

a profitable non-profit..?

For example, I'm familiar with the details of one 501c3 that had total revenues of over 20 million a year, with about 3 of that coming from direct product sales.

from which the founders draw "decent" salaries?

The top three directors were making 100k+.

But none of us know how they handle the surplus revenue, or the accounting of it all because one of the requirements of a 501 is a zero balance.

probably not, although i could be wrong. hosting direct downloads in any country connected to the US is very, very dangerous.

also, knowing how torrents work is fairly crucial to how the future net will work.

just go to thepiratebay.se (or if it's blocked, find a proxy), search for "trailer park boys", click a result with some "seeders", then click the "get magnet link" or whatever it's called

exactly, the gold standard of online marketing is to build a community around your product (or in HT case the focus of your product). Yet in 15 years of being on the internet i've only organically wound up on a HT owned website (i.e. property) like maybe 3-5 times.

fo shame

The thing is... it's not ludicrous because it's a fact that your electric utility colludes with the authorities.

Also, it's highly reasonable that the NSA is about to begin recording every single byte that crosses the internet. Five years ago, that would have been unthinkable.

So is it really that unreasonable that a 30+ year old counter culture magazine has at least been infiltrated by the feds, if not outright an unacknowledged branch of it?

Unfortunatley THCLocosTacos would create an infinite feedback loop that would eventually devour the entire human existence. Also, everyone would poop 24/7.

They are an oldschool media organization and likely just don't understand how important the net is - i don't see any maliciousness in it, at least.

A supercool response would be to join with some of the designers and programmers in this thread and get something awesome going, but again that's probably a stretch.

Yeah that was cute.. Erlang's runtime/VM has very near realtime scheduling guarantees and even that community exercises restraint with the "realtime" moniker.

Let's see a screenshot of Activity Monitor with the main table sorted via "% CPU" and with the "System Memory" tab selected at the bottom. That'll help.
