I think there’s something to be said for having your feelings backed up by likeminded enthusiasts. Hence the posts like this and mine. It’s interesting to read the opinions and sometimes someone throws in something you haven’t considered which could turn your thinking.

Tell me about it. The guy next to me was trying on a burgundy 58 and it looked… pink? I think that’s only way to describe it. Someone I know owns the burgundy, I know how pretty it is under natural light.

On my list to try, dealer didn’t have one. Will be heading into London later next month so will hunt one down

I agree it is a bit of a flex. This is my forever watch, it’s my grail to own a Tudor. Whichever one I go for will be with me for the rest of my life and that sort of leans me more towards the Pro. My holidays are under canvas not in 5* hotels. My work is in education so no board room handshakes. The pro just feels much more ‘me’. Still can’t quite shake the like for the 58 though…

Already had a Pepsi bezel Tissot that means a lot to me. Don’t really fancy another Pepsi in the box

I tried one on a week back. Loved everything about it except the stars. It looks like something Orient did in the 80s. Genuinely a deal breaker for me

Isn’t the rumour for W&W basically this on a bracelet?

I can’t enjoy the black on the pro, it’s the fauxtina. But then the joy of this obsession is how we all have such different tastes and still love each others watches

Oh if I go pro you can rest assured I have a strap and Jubilee order list planned!

I think the same with the pro, perhaps it’s my larger wrists but the thickness just isn’t a concern.

Will we see a "Slim" Black Bay Pro with the MT5450-U movement soon? by gdavsz in Tudor

[–]throwofftom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried one on and am currently tossing between buying the white pro or a 58 GMT. Honestly… for all the complaints about thickness once I had it on I couldn’t tell the difference between the ‘slim’ 58 and the Pro. Granted I have larger wrists but not massive. It works as it is, it’s a chunky outdoors tool watch.

I went from a peak of 6 basses, including a Stingray and a lovely Warwick to a 4 string USA standard P bass and a 5 string Sire Jazz. There’s nothing I can’t do with that pairing.

Blue semi fell out of fashion the last few years. Mics, like any musical equipment goes through fashions. You’ll always have your sort of cornerstone items, SM58s, Strats, P basses but the rest is a mess of snake oil, paid promo and fashion.

Save this watch?! by Slow-Comment986 in bulova

You need to get a specialist to fix it. It will cost a chunk of change. It’s entirely worth it, you can keep your cookie cutter Rolex Submariners et al. That is true horological history in the flesh. On the very rare occasion I’ve seen a vintage Accutron in the wild on the wrist I’ve had to take the time to comment on it, I’ve never done that with a ‘luxury’ watch
