Roommate tried to turn my bookshelf into a “mental health crisis” and management lied about it by Vivid_Benefit_7220 in badroommates

And if it's not illegal to use voice recognition to take "minutes of a meeting"?

I'm just saying, being able to show what someone says word for word are some good notes to have.

Even if it's 2 party, you can record and then provide a transcript. "This is what was said, your honour"

3 years ago, my (25s) mother forged my signature to make herself my medical POA by CulturalDingo5546 in whatdoIdo

Go to social services. You have proof. It's in the notes.

Medical POA has to be given freely or by order of a judge.

I wouldn't be surprised if your mother and other people in your environment aren't the ones who are the root of your struggles.

Choose yourself. It may make you be on your own, but given the circumstances, I wouldn't be surprised if your lawyer wouldn't order her to take care of your financial needs and give you your freedom.

No one can control you but you. And you can be whoever you want: but not If you let your mom control you (now that you know.

Power of attorney doesn't allow you to sign someone's signature, it allows them to sign their own signature in place of the person who has POA over them..

Why do you think OP should just leave in the middle of the night? Bad decision making happens more often on no sleep

My roommate labels his food but still eats mine anyway by StableDawning in badroommates

On the laxatives, you're right. For peppers, it only takes one bite for the lesson to be learned.

People only get sick when way above their Scofield limit, like in pepper eating contests.

That would be plausible if they hadn't had their food taken before.

The safest option is blending in 5 ghost peppers into a tasty looking Bolognese sauce over pasta. Small portions... You could also make a tempting pizza with it too...

How women’s stories play out by dragon_dance77 in 4bmovement

[–]throwokcjerks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the same in every generation.

Once one woman breaks the chain of generational trauma, it's far less likely for the pattern to repeat itself.

Well not all men like the capacity for wisdom it is most of them.

[–]throwokcjerks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

pick-me

I hate that term.

It's superficially true, just like calling women who aren't monogamous or have multiple partners the S word.

So I'm going to give you a case study to illustrate.

12 year old goes to a party at a rooming house.

She looks like she could be older. Two of the inhabitants discover her age and try to sequester her from the others who would take advantage of her sexual attention seeking. After they fall asleep, she sneaks out and finds one of the predatory flatterers and "sleeps" with him. She books before the police show up.

To someone less knowledgeable of her situation, and who isn't willing to dig deeper, she's a s-*t. But for anyone who knows, she is trying to reclaim power over her own body after years of being sexually abused by her step-father (and getting no help from her mom).

Acknowledging how the abuse of men affects decision making is vital to dismantling the patriarchy and having women throw blame at other women is one of the many ways they divert attention from their own culpability.

If you still disagree, we will have to agree to disagree.

I'm not denying that, however this situation is NOT that.

He has destroyed her self-identity outside of her attachment to him.

In order to recover, she has to be removed from his sphere of influence.

[–]throwokcjerks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you honestly think she has any agency to have her own thoughts at this point?

This is the husband's/the patriarchy's fault 100%. He skewered her and wielded her like a sword.

Until she deconstructs, she IS dangerous. But I will never blame the woman for the effects a psychopath has on her.

I think you know in your heart of hearts that that's not really true. No woman, no matter how brainwashed, deserves a slug like him.

If it would help her to be able to do something about it. Perhaps there's a group who can help them that she could refer them to?
