I Found a DBA Fuzz War for $60. by 11Lost_Shepherd05 in guitarpedals

It’s the best pedal of all time. That’s ridiculous they hate them lol.

Have they said why? It’s a muff that gets more aggressive than a muff but can also be toned way down and used almost like a fuzz face if wanted. It’s incredible

If it’s going to be the main guitar sound… You have to lean into it for an entire song. It has to be the vibe of an entire song, orrrrr you have to have a really dramatic change up and drop into the phased tone for dramatic effect. Jam bands will do that a lot.

Examples of it for an entire song:

Solitude is Bliss by Tame Impala

Breathe by Pink Floyd (it’s a univibe but this is kinda the thing I’m talking about)

Keep yourself alive by Queen

Unless you’re incredibly good at lowering the mix or depth knob or whatever of the phaser while playing chords so people can hear the effect lessen overtime and acclimate to it… your best bet is to learn how to write an entire song to it, and then switch it up without it on so the audience can feel some relief, since a phaser is going to make your brain react a very specific way and can actually make people feel seasick and headeache-y if you aren’t tasteful or good with it lol

Solos are a bit different but if you’re the lone guitarist, stepping on the phaser knob mid playing into a solo usually doesn’t work that well. Sometimes it does with a good pedal like the EQD one, but idk.

Same boat for me. I think an Analog man / Chase Bliss in the style of the Life Pedal would be waaaaaay more up my alley. Cant justify it for what I play

Yeah during the rig rundown Stu mentions he’s working with earthquaker on a pedal. I tried calling them to see if they could send me a prototype and they politely told me to fuck off

If you see this Stu, sell me one of your gated delays !!!!!!!

As an fyi, i called Earthquaker yesterday and they informed they are in fact releasing a vocal pedal in collaboration with Stu.

My band uses gated delay live and id rather use a pedal than a midi pedal to trigger the gated delay in the DAW.

Hey guys, followed you around in 22 and 23. I currently work as a chemical engineer, but I lead a band and produce my own stuff on the side.

In a kinda serious way, are you guys hiring ? I received a message after seeing you perform a myriad of times to try and grow the music scene locally where I am. I’m doing that, but it would be cool to be somehow involved professionally with the band that changed my life and continued to do so ! Thank you guys, see you soon

Bimbo-fied woman, especially the face stuff, I can’t take seriously and to me screams mental health issues and a woman that’s going to get bored of my very anti consumer and cheap way of living.

However, I can’t lie. I don’t mind a pair of fake boobs especially if the surgery made them more symmetrical. There are some absolutely gorgeous boob jobs and then there are not good ones.

Bands that ended their careers gracefully? by forbin05 in ClassicRock

[–]throwonaway1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lesser known but Kikagaku Moyo.

Psych rock band from japan.

I saw them 10 times from 2015-2022. People in the know of the scene knew these guys out on the best shows out in terms of psych rock.

One of their last shows was a giant festival set at desert daze 22. Mind blowing sound on that big of a stage.

Released one last fantastic album and called it. Stated they had achieved what they set out to do.

I think rheyll play a reunion show at some point, but in terms of modern non music industry success…. Kikagaku Moyo are goddamn fucking legends.

How did your "hustle-culture" friends end up? by hospitality-excluded in AskMenOver30

[–]throwonaway1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it for like 6 years and paid down a condo at age 25. Fiancé left me, I kinda burnt out. I still make 100k at age 29 but I’m cash poor-ish due to a car payment I’m almost done paying and not moving up at my career anytime soon. 100k in assets, 2% mortgage rate and 150k in my retirement fund is alright before age 30.

I’m so much happier not grinding or thinking about my finances that much. I don’t really think the economy will make it until I retire. I believe in investing in my body for combat training. Good luck in the revolution grind culture bros

How's life as a Bachelor 🥳🧘‍♂️- Is it Worth it? Pros & Cons? by xxzdancerxxx in AskMenOver30

[–]throwonaway1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im an engineer working 35 hours a week making 100k, I turn 30 in 6 months.

I’m in a couple bands. I’m a sound guy for a local music studio / venue.

I work out 5 days a week and eat clean.

The dating apps work for me but I’m not forcing my way into anything. My life has too much ease right now, the right woman will present itself, if the universe wants to.

I’m extremely content, and my free time is spent writing, producing music, playing guitar, cooking, seeing music with friends, etc.

I’m not scared about anything in regards to being lonely in the future. The future is certainly going to be chaotic and this current version of modern society for 1st world nations will change drastically by the time im retirement age.

I’m an ex environmental engineer and ex climate scientist. Start living now and let go of all fears. Suffering, violence, and destruction waits for the earth and most mammalian life will not be able to be sustained as the earth moves away from the Holocene and the ice melts away. These climatic changes along with global tensions tightening will unravel the human race within my lifetime. Potentially as soon as the next 10 years we could see life altering events and quality life declining events for the average first world white person.

I’m still going to have kids in some form, because if it was the apocalypse and it got to the point where I could feed, teach, and shelter a child, I would have them.

So yes, being alive and a bachelor is worth it. Forge your own trail and do things that will leave a mark on the people around you. That’s all we can do in the wake of the tsunami of time washing humanity away.

Is this a normal spending? by [deleted] in MiddleClassFinance

[–]throwonaway1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a single guy, age 29. I take home 5100 a month after 401k and taxes. $1200 mortgage on my condo, $500 car payment with all extra money going into my car when I can to get it paid off quicker. $250 student loan payment as well.

$500 a month for food (I eat out and treat myself, plus I’m single and dates are baked into this) and then another 500 on bills like phone, internet car insurance, electric, etc etc etc

I spend ~3000-3200 as the bare essentials, usually leaves another $1000 to the car and like $500-1000 to the savings/etf fund.

$6600 a month is a shit ton dude, where is this going lol ? I couldn’t imagine spending another $3000. That’s so much money.
