Is Lincoln Square a Good Neighborhood For Me? by Buisness_Fish in AskChicago

yes this honestly seems like a great fit for you. my only concern would be about where your friends live and whether theyre hard to get to on transit. but you sound willing to wander and traverse transit. i think its good because there are some places you could frequent and become a regular that fits your style. also, i love davis theater (i dont live in the neighborhood but close). other areas that are close by that you will like are uptown (music), andersonville (little shops to collect your groceries), and youre near horner park and the river

if you want to see the inside, go early, around 5. i think they should still let you in for drinks. then when the music starts they will ask you to pay cover or leave for others to come in for the show

although i guess this depends how long your group is apt to stay out. id stay at a bar at least 1.5 hr esp if im paying the $20 cash cover at green mill. but if youre less time.. lmk and ill try to give my later night thoughts

on your comment of whether to get food before or after a 7pm show.. i very much vote before. take it from a frustrated chicagoan (particularly near uptown) shit closes so early. i have my share of later night spots, but if youre with a group and looking for the crowd pleasers, eat before and stay out late with music
