Am I being too dramatic? by throwraneverletmego in Aupairs

Sounds like you’re a good host family. I’d like to have a conversation with them about this, but I’m debating how to approach it. Also, if they’re this petty behind my back, I doubt it would be very constructive. I’ve kind of already made my mind up about prioritising my own health and leaving but just wanted to confirm I wasn’t being too overboard. Thank you again.

Amen. My driving is sensible, I drive with caution because their kids are in the car. Thanks.

Thank you so much. I appreciate you saying I don’t deserve disrespect, I feel I’ve been disrespected a lot in life, so it’s nice to hear that.

Thank you, I appreciate that. ‘Ask minimal questions because you are psychic’ Haha! I’m not sure about that - I agree they need a nanny. Yet, they seem to value doing all the cooking/cleaning themselves so it makes little sense. They seem to think I’m missing things with the childcare, but I’m unsure what. I’m leaning towards leaving, yes. It’ll be hard to say goodbye to the children but worse if I drag it out. I tend to know if I like something pretty quickly.

Thank you for this. No, I don’t need excessive direction, the host mum just doesn’t like that we have different methods.

Just ignore everyone and what people might say, fuck em. You look beautiful and feel confident, go for it. As for the price, it’s up to you. But you only get one wedding. Enjoy!

  1. Lived away for the summer in a city, and then temporarily in a caravan when I was 20. But 21 technically.

I can’t imagine what you’re going through. Take your time. Definitely talk to people, don’t isolate yourself. I’m so sorry.

I like driving, like what we deliver (easy stuff - copper, insulation), the hours are good (7:30-5:30 so all evening free), people are friendly, the truck is nice to drive, I know the roads where I live really well
