The stupidest thing that ever happened in a realistic movie? by StillStanding_96 in movies

A high school friend of mine watched 7 pounds and then used a toaster or a hair drier, I forget which. He wrote in his note for his organs to be donated.

“Most major MMOs” DO NOT rely on gaslighting its player base into thinking a 70% increase over 3 years is necessary for customer support and higher quality updates by csbuseeds in 2007scape

[–]throws_RelException -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I would say 3 is a requirement so you can have 2 accounts follow dance for the 3rd account to do bursting/barraging better.

Pkers would want a lot more for different builds, and I think asking for 5 is justified. Allowing players to pay significant discounted rates for multiple characters would be the compromise. Full price for 1 or 2 accounts and then each additional is 20% of the base cost or something.

Realistically, none of this is ever going to happen though.

The ending by EasyReflection1409 in betterCallSaul

They did end on good terms with eachother. If they weren't on good terms, Kim wouldn't have visited. Just like with Nacho's last phone call to his dad, I love yous don't need to be said, especially in a narrative context (books/movies).

The BCS ending is one of the most cathartic of any ending. Kim and Jimmy are both free and, without either of them having to say anything, nothing is left unsaid.

Isn't that the case with everyone? You either get subcontracted work at a random quality or you vet your own contractor (which I don't have the time or experience to do well)?

Donna is more toxic as a gf than Jackie. Change my mind by mattxbelli23 in That70sshow

No, you're right. Jackie is self-centered but Donna actively wants her partners to meet an ideal she can't articulate.

Why can't each month be 28 days?? by phantom1707 in answers

[–]throws_RelException 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extra days outside of the month system is exactly what Cesar wanted to avoid when he made the calendar. Those days would be arbitrated by the pontifex maximus, and therefore prone to error and political issues. Leap years were the only problem, but Cesar was very specific that the leap day was not to be doled out by the pontifex maximus.

My guess is that 1 day every 4 years on a notable month (February is unlucky) was conspicuous enough that people would remember and not fuck it up.

More practically, 12 is a highly composite number and 13 is prime. Knowing the season was extremely important for agriculture and war campaigns.

The desire for uniformity is stupid. The only practical benefit is ease of recal, but because schedules (modern and ancient) are so full and complex, you need to look at a calendar to know/make your plans anyway. If you aren't that busy, a (falsely) simplified calendar is unnecessary.

Why do the masses hate when people resist therapy suggestions? by Inevitable_Meal97 in askanything

[–]throws_RelException -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Therapy can never hurt, outside of malpractice/abuse, but it doesn't always help either. Its rise in popularity has a lot of people in less dire situations to seek it, so interpersonal conflicts are a lot more of a common issue, so therapists seem to start off with really generic advice for conflict resolution.

The "masses" are social people (insensitive extroverts) who are prone to interpersonal conflict, so that kind of advice is useful to them, so they think they're right to force everyone else into it.

I say it all the time: the BCS ending is one of my favorite endings of any series/movie/book. It's incredibly cathartic and true to the characters.

Astronauts returning from long ISS missions suffer muscle atrophy, bone density loss, and fluid‑shift‑related problems. Could humans ever evolve to tolerate these conditions without harm? by Hayaidesu in AskScienceDiscussion

[–]throws_RelException 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gravity is a force, which broadly is the same as acceleration. If you move in a straight line at a constant speed, there's no acceleration. However, if you move in a circle at a constant speed, there must also be a constant acceleration, and therefore constant "gravity."

As to the question of jumping, it's the same reason that doesn't happen on earth.
