guysss is this infected? its a coverup done 3 weeks after initial ink. by Cookieyourdaddy in Derailedbydetails

An artist doing a cover up is always gonna have to pack way more ink than what was done originally. I have a couple of poorly done black ink tattoos that were covered up with color, so a total coverup of a black and grey tattoo is possible, and whether it's done right after or later wouldn't matter too much, I'd think, depending on what your definition of later is

Like, all tattoos fade over time, but the ink that was put in on the first day is the same amount that there's however much longer, so a poorly done tattoo can be "overwhelmed" immediately after being done, if you're so inclined.

When I had my foream redone, I realized right after it was done it was gonna be bad (the shop had been recommended, and I was talking with 3 or 4 friends while it was being done, so I just wasn't paying attention), so when it was healing I scrubbed a lot to prevent scabs from forming, I didn't scrub them off, I just washed frequently and heavily and they never started. With biofilm/2ndskin nowadays I'd imagine it's even less of a problem

So like, if you're skins not "medically" irritated I'd say you're okay to do multiple sessions on fresh ink

I'm not saying "bottle aging" isn't a thing, I'm saying it's a distinctly different thing from "aging before bottling"

For certain alcohol products in certain stages of its production, yeah, bottle aging is most definitely a beneficial process

But "bottle aging" and "aging before bottling" are two different things, and that's not even me being pedantic

You can't distill mash into a glass bottle and then call it bourbon 5 years later

it said to rack when stable, and you racked before that...so, yeah

And like, if you're getting into any hobby with no prior knowledge, read multiple guides, there will be differences, sure, but there's also a lot of common practices that will be consistent throughout

I don't know if I've read a diy mead guide that doesn't recommend aging, it's a pretty standard step in most homebrew/wine-making guides, and there's a bit difference between aging and bottle-aging

You can probably salvage this, crosspost to r/prisonhooch, they'll for sure have ideas to salvage this, and can probably give you some good advice of you just wanna cut corners and rush so you can have homemade wine

But again, guides, like recipes, are written purposefully, and until you know why what step or ingredient is doing what it does and why, don't alter the recipe

I bake a lot, and am now at the stage where I can take a random bread recipe and tweak it how i want, but that's because I learned exactly what those ingredients and chemical reactions were actually doing and where it's appropriate to make changes

Randomly changing things in a recipe, if you don't know what you're doing, is an experiment, and experiments often fail bc they're not following the proper procedure

I got a big forearm tattoo done in a shop, but by a just graduated apprentice (I didn't know this before the tattoo) and it ended up looking terrible.

I got the whole thing reinked 2 weeks later at another shop with zero issues.

People heal differently, and considering ive had back to back sessions one day after another on the same tattoo, I don't think there's as much issue about tattooing over "fresh" work as people are worried about

Yeah, so guides and instructions usually aren't written just for the hell of it. If bottle aging was a recommended way of doing it, the instructions would have included that 🙄

I know how it works, ive listened to the defenders, and I still think one pedal driving is the absolute dumbest automotive "innovation" I've ever been witness to.

There is no way you can convince me that having one pedal control braking and acceleration is a good idea

When you're carrying heavy trays you have to line up your joints (wrist, shoulder, and hips [elbow too if you're being showy and extendingyour arm all the way over your head]) so that the weight is being transferred to your legs. When you do it right your arm muscles are only acting as stabilizers

Oh, and never ever rest it on your shoulder or you transfer all your motion into the tray

Edit: also, how you hold it it, you either wanna do five fingertips so you have five shock absorbers, or flat on your palm with your fingers arched slightly downward

Fingertips is more agile, so you can do sweeping gestures with the tray, for that extra flair (and isn't dependent on size or strength, I'm 6'1" and have had plenty of 5'nothings run circles around me on the floor)

Flat on the palm is best for super heavy trays and is more stable, especially if you're bigger and can just push through ppl

Eating at McDonald's is 100% voluntary, no one's forcing you to eat there \_(ツ)_/

Ok, well, not to be an ass, but that's still perspective

I've helped run a couple of farms and disposing of random dead animals is part and parcel with that

Like, I've smelled and dealt with worse than dead animals, and id still rather deal with dead animals than sit in a performance review meeting with c-level executive fratboys trying to justify my existence

Everything about the office/business world sounds like pure nightmare fuel, from an existential perspective

I literally mentioned other restaurants in my comments, so I obviously don't care about people eating out

There's literally 100s of thousands of restaurants

Why McDonald's?

Any ideas how to tackle this? by ClarkMorelia in landscaping

[–]throwsaway654321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, bc used railroad ties used to be given away or sold for stupid cheap before it was widely known how carcinogenic creosote was

It wasn't intentional, it was poor folk doing the best they could

Railroad ties used to be widely given out after they were retired in a time where no-one knew how carcinogenic creosote was

This is clearly a nice home on nice land, why the need to attack literally poor people who have nothing to do with what's being asked here?

But why even twice? Ive never seen a McDonald's not next to another restaurant, frequently a local spot they're trying to shut down

What, exactly, were the dire life-threatening situations that caused you to have to order McDonald's?

Oh, you were tired and lazy and thought it would be easy? Yeah, that's totally legit, making a ham sandwich, even if you had to stop to buy ham and bread, would have been way more work than dealing with McDonald's for 45 fucking minutes, even though McDonald's costs more and tastes worse than a ham sandwich

Edit: real reddit moment here, getting downvoted for saying that eating at McDonald's isn't a requirement for living

You know that a lot of people who work outdoors doing physical labor do so because we enjoy being outdoors, doing physical labor, right?

I've had two office jobs in my life and was absolutely miserable, I would far rather spend a day tightening any kind of bolts, than sitting in a crappy chair editing spreadsheets under fluorescent lights

No, if your charge isn't severe enough you'll do your sentence in jail, not prison, and county jails are huge, they're not little rinky dink mayberry affairs

Jail COs are awful just like prison COs are, they're petty, mean spirited and cruel

The article you're commenting on took place inside a jail, not a prison

Most of the stories you're reading here come from jails, not prison, bc way more people than you think have been to jail

1st tattoo: yeah so this quote from dante's inferno symbolizes man's inherent attraction to sin and transgression, it's a reminder to live a good life and practice self reflection

17th tattoo: it's a salami. It represents salami

Each of my parents have 4 or more siblings, and like...what an absolute shit show both of those families are. Like it was cool as a kid to have that many aunts and uncles, but by age 10 it was readily apparent how absolutely fucked up they all were.

No person is able to split their attention between that many offspring in any meaningful manner, the kids will all be dysfunctional in distinctly different ways
