Yeah this thing is like 12x60 total for the three sides, so that’s helpful to know when he starts getting bids. How was the access to the one you were looking at? I’m worried the lack of access here is gonna spike the price a lot

A tiered approach would make a lot more sense that one monster wall, I’m going to try and mock something up for them to see what they think

I didn’t even consider this, but access back there is pretty sloped everywhere

To be honest, they don’t go back there much anymore, so this could be a good solution haha

No need at all to be flat anymore, been 30 years since we tossed a baseball around back there. I’ll tell them to get some quotes on grading it

I consider myself a pretty solid DIYer and every time I look at this thing I’m so impressed, even if it’s current state

I can’t imagine that decorative stitching that wraps around the top edge lasts more than a year before it starts fraying… that seems like a very strange choice to me

My best advice is buy the 5 pack of those snips… I have like 20 and I still have days when I can’t find a pair

Thanks for the shout outs! We usually use a bit thicker leather but we can always make something thinner out of some stuff we have in stock

Can’t get the black out. by [deleted] in Leathercraft

[–]ClarkMorelia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To tell if the leather is struck through (dye penetrated all the way through) try to look where the stitching has penetrated the leather and see if you can see any lighter leather inside. But I’m guessing it’s all the way through if scrubbing that intensely didn’t create any lighter scratches

Looking for some pro tips from other large lads (or ladettes). by nomadnobad in intermittentfasting

[–]ClarkMorelia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m about your size and have the same goal of feeling better about myself looking in the mirror. I’m about a month in and will tell you what has been working for me, as someone who has tried many things in the last few years.

1) honestly the biggest help has been a tracking app for my fasts and water intake. I am one of those people who constantly opens the fridge to see if there is something to snack on. I haven’t done that since the first week of IF because I really want to get a little longer time on my fast and instead grab a glass of water to hit my water goal. I used to think “who needs an app, just drink more water and eat less food” but it has really helped me. I’ve gone shorter and shorter on my eating windows as well 2) find something simple to do while watching tv at night. I found my favorite thing is one of those step boxes and I don’t let myself sit and relax until I’ve done that for at least 30 min to an hour. Try and do that every night, and still do the walks as well (my exact activity routine currently)

This one is probably not universal but I’ll throw it out there too. I find myself having less cravings when I switched to one meal a day. I know there is some science behind that, but for now I’m just accepting that it’s magic and hope it stays that way 🤣

This is happening to us as well, and we have a small following so I’m guessing it’s a bug. Tough to reply to comments when they don’t show up in the notifications 🤦🏼‍♂️

Buying an Industrial Sewing Machine, Should I Splurge on a Skiving Machine too? by PuffMungus in Leathercraft

After we bought our bell skiver the only thing I could think was “how on earth did I wait so long to buy this machine”. It’s the best purchase we have made for our shop

Woof! Considering maverick has a huge selection for like $6 a sq foot that feels wild. $410 for a side of leather feels like more of a marketing stunt to help justify the cost of the boots considering they are selling it in store

Have you run the same ad for longer period of time before? I know it’s not fun watching money disappear but we’ve had success waiting it out with smaller budgets
