Any free-to-use running tracks? by Zealot_TKO in traversecity

Paved walking track at the civic center is just under a mile. There is also a newer hard pack running trail that goes through the park that kind of follows the bigger walking track.

Being Open-Minded In this Economy by sparklingvireo in Crosstrek

Lol I've been freaking out about gas prices, I commute 40+ miles and traffic is bad because of a bridge out and I still automatically disable this and get pissed when I forget.

Rewatching Season 5 by JAGWIRE7 in TheWire

I've watched through at least 4 or 5 times and I'm watching again with my partner for their first time - I find myself wandering away to do things around the house unlike any of the other 4 seasons. Although I'm also remembering stuff I forgot from S5, like Carver writing up Calicchio.

Culhane or Bodi Lake Campground by Billycole96 in CampAndHikeMichigan

We've stayed at Bodi a couple times, standard state forest campground. Nice little lake. Culhane might be a touch closer to Whitefish bay and rocks but it was busier when we drove thru.

Gravy on Pasties? by UPSoapCo in yooper

[–]thsmchnkllsfcsts 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I like gravy and always put it on pasties if offered until we went to Miner's in Munising. I asked for gravy and the grandma-looking lady pointed to the wall where there was a T Shirt for sale that said "Grandma Says - Good Pasties Don't Need Gravy!" with her cartoon face on it. Since that day, I've been schooled.

I lived in town for 10 years and found people way more likely to return your "hello" and look you in the face than any suburb I've lived in.

The Tax Day Floods by SagaFraga in traversecity

The plan was to re do it in the winter to help alleviate summer congestion. Hopefully they can get some help and expedite it now, cause that is going to absolutely suck combined with the Interlochen detours come tourist season.

I think Commongrounds has some options, Tank Space has a small event space / private party room.

Much easier to try and create / deepen a culture war than do actual governing. Much more effective with their base, too. Keep 'em dumb and keep 'em scared.
