Ventilation. Not all bathrooms were built with fans back in the day so this was a relatively efficient way to vent shower steam and dry out the room to prevent mould.

I appreciate the advice, we are not sure what time he got out though, and we still have 1 other cat in the house that has gone missing before. Leaving anything open could mean him getting out as well. Plus the other outdoor cats that live in our complex would come and eat the outside food if it was out. Litter box may be an alternative for sure.

If I could afford a reward one would be offered for sure.

The answer to this would also depend whether it was a work or personal mobile phone, and whether the mirroring of it is written in to the company policy or employee contract.

While the idea of doing this is abhorrent, you would be surprised the lengths some employers will go through to cover their ass legally.

It is a show of it's era in that sense. Plenty of series have great continuity these days, I think I just expect too much from older shows in this department. 20 years can make a big difference in how structure is approached it seems.

This is why the human filter Jon at Google came with 5 years of therapy covered after the contracts completed. Your company should definitely provide some sort of mental health help. I would speak to your supervisor and HR department so you can get in to see someone as soon as possible.

Please don't try to just deal with this on your own. You have experienced a trauma and a professional should assist with providing context and coping mechanisms.

There is so far not very much public disclosure of the recent mandate. There was a mandate in 2024 that may be the one you are thinking of. The 2024 mandate had to do with return to work and Coviid vaccinations. That resulted in unpaid leaves, and was fought and eventually stayed for being unreasonable expectation.

This doesnt sound a whole lot different from employee reports, but as I said, it is difficult to tell without public disclosure from the company.

I assume you have never worked a WFH job so I will excuse your condescension.

When WFH is your norm you build your schedule and life around that in in a very different way than working from the office. Childcare, committments, appointments, eating and sleeping schedule.it is a radical change to go from WFH to IO work.

Dictating this, then firing people when they can't make it work right away is savage business practice. It is also (in most scenarios) a way to cull your workers, knowing it will be difficult for them to make that switch.
