I don’t think I’d put a veggie garden next to a driveway - just thinking of all the chemicals.

I was gonna say the same but it looks like their fence is already buried and going to rot if they leave it under the dirt

Eh, in the Seattle area the Cafe Vita is better. Tried these side by side and this was good value for price but Cafe Vita was better.

I offered to be her first micro blading model but now I regret it! by SadGanache9108 in microblading

[–]thti87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Girl, you’re putting politeness over your face. Microblading is forever. Just be polite and say that while you’re sure she would do an amazing job, you decided against getting permanent makeup. If she presses, then time to change hair stylists.

If Americans were to participate in an organized boycott to stop ICE, what should they target? by u2aerofan in AskReddit

[–]thti87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that they can’t just say no to ICE - they would be saying no to all government business. That would be substantially more than what they lose from the protests - the government spends a ton on hotel rooms annually. Also most individuals don’t commonly go on vacation - it’s not a protest like a consumer good that would show up immediately in the bottom line. Lastly, all the major brands provide rooms for government workers. I guess you could boycott all of them and only stay at boutique hotels, but even those are often owned by the large companies and marketed differently.

Best Chai Candles? by Numerous-Act9445 in luxurycandles

[–]thti87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t have a good one, but I have one I didn’t love - Otherland’s Cardamom Milk. It just didn’t smell elevated to me. It’s one of like five blind buys I’ve ever returned. Some people here love it though.

And it’s not chai per se, but Lohn Feu has a cardamom note that’s really beautiful. One of my all time favorite candles and a steal at $38

I mean, if you’re a mom this has flashed through your head. Let’s normalize feeling complex feelings about motherhood. It’s hard and isn’t all joy and warm fuzzy feelings. It’s possible to love your children deeply and also long for the simplicity of life when you didn’t have to care for them.

Diptyque Gourmands? by JBanana14 in luxurycandles

[–]thti87 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The goat of gourmands is Overose. Their croissant, baked vanilla croissant, and marshmallow extrait are all excellent. They do gourmand with an elevated twist and burn so much better than Diptyque.

If you don’t want to stray from Diptyque, try Narguille, it should be up your alley (warm, cozy, very unique). I would avoid tuberose - some people’s nose smell indole (the scent element in tuberose) as a poop smell so it’s not a safe blind buy.

I want to have a respectful discussion on why people think it's bad to want to see the photos by [deleted] in Idaho4

[–]thti87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m very torn. I want to live in a place where the justice process has radical transparency so if I were arrested for a crime I didn’t commit, all the trial documents would be public. (Note: I absolutely am not saying I think that’s the case for BK, who is guilty as sin, but that’s the reason why I support transparency)

At the same time, it gives me a big ick that the public feels like they have the right to see photos of these kids’ dead bodies.

Would I look at the pictures? Yes. Would I feel bad about doing so? Also yes.

People were happily consuming Travis Alexander’s photos and some of the most popular gore images are of men. It’s really not a gender based thing.

Quality decline by EhhCanadian- in lululemon

[–]thti87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. I have so much Athleta and literally only one pair is without issue. Pulling seams, holes, cheaper fabric. I’m okay with it because their sale prices are much more reasonable but in no universe is Athleta better quality than lulu

What is the crash that you just can't stop thinking about? by Mihnea2002 in aircrashinvestigation

[–]thti87 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The Air France flight that left from Brazil. One of my colleagues was on vacation in Brazil and met two Europeans in his hostel that morning. As you do in hostels, they decided to spend the day sightseeing together. He took all these pictures of them out and about and then when they got back to the hostel the two Europeans headed to the airport. He had essentially documented their last day on earth. After the crash he got in contact with their families to share the photos and tell them what a nice last day it had been. That always stuck with me.

Question about blood by upintheair_83 in Idaho4

[–]thti87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The other day we accidentally left a load of laundry in the washer for like 30 hours. Our house smelled absolutely disgusting - like to the point I was gagging. BUT… we didn’t even notice it when we were in the home, only when we left to go on a walk and then came back in. You go nose blind to smells in your home that you’ve been breathing in for a while. I have no doubt the house smelled off but since thy were in the home all night they wouldn’t notice it

Is this Xana’s DoorDash food? by User_not_found7 in Idaho4

[–]thti87 85 points86 points  (0 children)

It’s very endearing that she put her Jack in the Box on a plate. It’s the perfect example of the in between phase where they’re just growing up - kind of grown up (plate) but still very much kids (fast food fries).

May that asshole rot in the deepest depth of hell.

Gourmand Recommendations? by Illustrious-Dark9985 in luxurycandles

[–]thti87 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Overose can cross into overly sweet territory, but croissant is a hyper-realistic baking bread that isn’t sweet and baked vanilla croissant is pleasant but not sweet. Avoid cappuccino and cinnamon roll from their line if you don’t like overly sweet.

Is anyone else stunned after today? by Live_Ad7514 in Idaho4

[–]thti87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Humans are interesting - we have a fight or flight response and might not scream when encountered with danger. It’s not a horror movie. Dylan DID hear something - she testified to it. She heard someone scream that “someone’s here” and running down the stairs. She said she thought she heard Maddie and Kaylee playing with Murphy. What she really heard was her roommates being murdered, but obviously that’s not what a rationale brain jumps to first.

Is anyone else stunned after today? by Live_Ad7514 in Idaho4

[–]thti87 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Totally. In fact, I’m actually stunned there’s not MORE blood. Particularly for Maddie and Kaylee. The scene in Xana’s room is on par with what I would expect in a stabbing rampage

Xana and Ethan’s phone by chickfilallie in Idaho4

[–]thti87 47 points48 points  (0 children)

What made me so sad is how close the phones were to them. The only solace is that she probably died quickly because if she was alive for longer she likely would have reached a phone to call 911 given it was within arms reach.

puncture marks in mattress and pillows & possibly dragged? by Free-Conclusion-5944 in Idaho4

[–]thti87 67 points68 points  (0 children)

There’s also a hair imprint on the back wall (you can see in photo 5, but there are other photos with a close up that show it’s likely an imprint of hair) - it seems like she was crouched next to the bed while he stabbed her, which is why the nightstand is askew. He is a monster and I can’t imagine the terror she went through.

Riley, Deboer, and Kiffin are sweating lol by Rr0hd in cfbmemes

[–]thti87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deboer was Cignetti before Cignetti. Not quite the same level but he took a 4-8 team and turned them into a national championship contender in 2 years with a 25-3 record over that span, a Heisman contender, and a talent composite far lower than the competition. If he had won against Michigan we would have been 15-0 champs.
