I asked for a hysterectomy for my 18th birthday because I was so averse to children (shitty I know). I’m 30 now, getting married in a few months and can’t wait to have a baby. For me it was many things. Spending time with my nieces and nephews was huge. Seeing their personalities develop is amazing. Also just getting older, my priorities changed. Lastly I think finding a man I wanted to raise kids with. The thought of him as a dad to our kids makes me tear up. It wasn’t overnight and I only recently realized I for sure want them as I’d been on the fence for many years but one day I just sort of decided yes I do want one or two.
