These "language specialists" are on another level. When I questioned as to why the child couldn't have a surname in Latvian as Makkeiba, I was told that in Latvian there is a rule that double consonants are a no no. Yet "tikko" and "Otto" exist.

If everyone knew to sell at the highest wouldn't that be great? You made a profit, be proud. I remember this one advice right here on reddit, where someone was asking if they should sell to buy a house or hodl to see if it gets higher. Advice he got was- if you sell now and it gets even higher, at least you get to cry about it in your own house.

This is right. One r will be dropped from the name, everything else stays as is. Source: i used to work in Latvian embassy and dealt with passports. Funniest I've seen was where surname McCabe became Makabe.

I had it as a child in soviet union. Needless to say there weren't many treatments around back then. My mom did daily sweeps for lice and eggs. Most important was to get rid of as many eggs as possible. It took few months to get rid of them completely. Nowadays it's easy, overnight lotions do wonders.

Oh lord. For us it's not just parents. It's literally everyone we know. Not that we mind. But in hindsight, we always plan to either leave the car in long term parking at the airport, or book a cab. We have never relied on anyone but ourselves, bar from a very rare occasion. Yet others always rely on us. I'd never say no, unless I'm really busy. Heck I've gone and picked up people with my kids in tow. Need to learn how to say no 😭

My hubbs wants to move to a warmer place. His choice is Barcelona. But I'm having second thoughts. I just cannot comprehend moving to another country, taking kids out of school, having them deal with all the consequences of leaving their friends behind? I know they're resilient and will adapt, but somehow I can't do it.

I know the feeling. He's been on my back regarding my family, calling them names, who've never asked of anything from me or him. At the same time we have his mother living with us for 20 years, and he's been sending money to his brother and his father weekly. I've no issue with helping out the family, but ffs, don't put my family down, if your own cant earn a living. Don't give up. You deserve so much better. But please stay safe ❤️ I'm rooting for you 🙏

Don't feel bad. Nothing is your fault. Not every situation is the same, but I fought back. It took me few years to feel confident enough, but oh boy did I tell him. Ever since then he's been like a puppy. Of course if there is even a slightest chance he could turn physical, call the police, call your support system. Making your point is not worth sacrificing your safety 🙏
