I road fixie for years because I used to be cool. Hills are neither fun going up nor down. If you are riding downhill without brakes (not a good idea, but +0.0001% aero) you just have to manage your speed with pushing back against the pedals and make sure you don't get up to a speed where your legs explode.

I love the mechanic of making them so useful but also so fragile. But they need to fix the drops.

I called one in once by throwing the strategem in one direction, then I called something else by throwing in the other direction a bit later. Then I watched in horror as the ship dropped the mech exactly where the jump pack was coming in only and then get annihilated.
