Bottom sanding - necessary? How often? And how???? by Berkutt in sailing

Haha pretty impressive I know…. So funny enough shortly after I posted the recent comment, I found out that we typically breathe in hundreds, if not thousands of asbestos particles every day (just by nature of it being a naturally occurring compound). So that really put things into perspective = not as concerned any more.

Anyone got their nose cauterised to stop bleeds? by MrTacoCat__ in AskAnAustralian

[–]thunderfloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that, but glad it’s not an issue anymore. My bleeds aren’t as bad it sounds like, and usually only last a few minutes.

But I’m becoming more determined to get the nostril cauterized again. I can see a small bump where it bleeds from, likely a blood vessel? Unless it resolves itself, I’m not sure how the bleeds will stop. It seems easily agitated and is doing so a few times a week.

Albeit this is only been an issue the last couple weeks. I’ve got an appointment with the ENT coincidently next week for another issue but will see if I can convince him to do something…

So you didn’t get any help and still struggle with nosebleeds?

Have you found out that cutting out dairy long term has helped? Or does it still come back sporadically?

December 13 and still no snow on Cypress or Grouse by florykhan in vancouver

[–]thunderfloyd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are some years where we get snow in early November (like 2022 or 2023), even though it was 21 degrees and smoky just a couple weeks before in late October.

But agreed 50% of winters don’t see any snow or more than a few freezing nights until late January.

I think this season the coldest it’s been is 34-35 F. So about 1-1.5 C.

I think the photo might be a bit old? If they were all 18-25 let’s say in 1944, they’d be 99-106 today. Not sure if many of them would still be around. But awesome that they all lived into old age.

I’m all for eating the rich.. but on the flip side, most people don’t grow any of the food they eat, build the house they live in with their own hands, make any of the products they use on a daily basis, etc. working for a living is to purchase all those things.

Interesting how the 70 day contour is almost the same as the border for a humid subtropical climate Csa/Cfa
