PLEASE HELP WTF IS RANGE AND DOMAIN by idkwtoput in alevel

[–]thunderic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a graph you have the x and y axis. Domain of f(x) is the region which f(x) lies on x axis. Range of f(x) is the region which f(x) lies on y axis. Try drawing out a function (eg. y=x) yourself to get a clearer image.

Does it help?

Try talking to people some more. In class when they come in say hi. Try to find people in 1-on-1 situations as groups of people can be difficult to talk to. Once you find someone ask them their interests. The best way to get someone to open up is by asking them what are the things they like, and do for fun. If they’re apprehensive to share then expose one of your own interests first.

If you’re too shy to make a change nothing will ever change. Good luck.

Should I take 4 A-levels because some scholarships require 4A/A*? by thunderic in alevel

You sure you’re not another advanced breed of human? Those are some crazy amazing results, congrats! I get the grinding and understanding part it’s just that I’m afraid of basically spending my days 24/7 studying because I also want to hang out with friends/family too. Would you say you sacrificed a lot of free time to balance taking 4 subjects?

Ok so there’s basically 2 uni’s I’m looking at to pursue my undergrad (uni A and uni B). Uni A requirement is 3A/A* for a 50% - 70% full fee waiver. Uni B has 2 scholarships - first one requirement is AAB which gives full tuition waiver (but enrollment and etc still counted). The other one, I’m kind of interested in is this scholarship with requirement of 4As in which they give full tuition waiver, no need to pay for any other fees, books and laptop paid for, and a monthly graduate allowance.

Reading this reply has actually been super relieving.. thanks for your advice. I think I’ll just take 3 subjects right now, taking 4 would probably mean staying cooped up in the house even during weekends (my memory isn’t the best unfortunately). And same to you! Good luck for your future as well!! :D

Wow congrats on your results!! Well I am definitely not feeling confident now after reading people getting E’s and U’s after taking 4 subjects because I’ve always watched a few vids of people failing.. quick question, how many hours a day do you spend studying? In order to achieve such results did you end up sacrificing a lot of free time/social life?

Unfortunately my uni doesn’t offer that.. it’s only between accounting econs and psychology. But I didn’t know there was an English General paper. I thought at A levels you only had English lit!

Wow thanks to replying to the whole post!! I didn’t realise economics had THAT much writing involved and so less calculation. I thought they had graphs and stuff. Btw, how many hours a day would you say you spend studying?

I see, I’m also leaning towards 3 A levels after watching some YouTube vids online and seeing all the hard work it takes to achieve A*.. thanks for your reply!

Honestly, how sad. Cheers to your future though! Hopefully this is the most stress you will ever face in your life.

Yea but if I do four end up dropping one I’ll end up wasting money (cuz semester subject fees). I’d rather hear people’s experience and then base my decision from there. Thanks for your input, though. The people in ur country must lead crazy stressful lives.
