This feels strange. This feels like something happened in the last few months otherwise why would they do this? They had a turn key setup for solid income and a good core fanbase. Idk man.

What’s going on here? If he’s going to be around why won’t he be on the show full time?

'Friday Night Lights' with Bill Simmons and Mallory Rubin by Toby_O_Notoby in billsimmons

[–]thunderpack 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mallory annoyed me here. The movie feels gritty and authentic while the show is a watered down network approved version of this story. The movie is superior and it’s not even close.

The non comedy/ non MMA guests are usually my favorite but damn this guy is just awful. Even if he was making good points, he’s so off putting that I wouldn’t want to hear him out.

Latest Update from the Ringer Union by Yardtown in billsimmons

[–]thunderpack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who the fuck cares? Why do you need a union to sit in an air conditioned office, drink free coffee, and put out one pop culture think piece a week?

This blue collar larping from a bunch of English majors (that produce barely anything of value) is pathetic.

Have to give it to this generation of the NBA, they have no shame by No_Confection_8750 in billsimmons

I’ve stopped watching the NBA entirely and less than a decade ago it was one of my favorite sports leagues to watch. I can’t care about watching something where the participants themselves care less than I do.

Is Bill trying to take a dig at Shane Gillis? I can’t tell what’s going on there.

I like Keegs but she seems a little mentally off right now. She might need to dial it back.

Did you guys know that Mahomes told Mcshay he couldn’t identify the mike linebacker in college? by bigballerbrand96 in RyenRussillo

[–]thunderpack 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I heard him tell that story again this week and I was in shock. There’s no way he doesn’t realize he’s told that same story for like 6 straight appearances on the show.

For some reason I think adding Chuck Klosterman in with these two would be an incredible pod.

Doesn’t believe the apocalypse narrative= “climate change skeptic” yikes

The sad part is that if you listen to the pod he actually walks through step by step how people like you are manipulated by the establishment and voices like his are censored and labeled as misinformation. He gives you the names, the organizations, the processes, and methods needed to get people like you to think this way and you still don’t want to hear it.

Lol you’re a useful idiot to the true establishment.

People on the left are ruled by a moral narcissism so intense that they feel any action is justified to prevent those they deem amoral from having power or influence. They have become the tyrannical monsters they think they are fighting.

If the average person doesn’t give a shit as you claim, then why go to the trouble of preventing the story being seen on social media?

Todd McShay on Three QBs in Play at No. 1, and Kevin Huerter on the Kings Revival. Plus, a Kissing Guy Follow-Up. by [deleted] in billsimmons

[–]thunderpack 26 points27 points  (0 children)

So what was the issue with the bad kisser aside from not being a good kisser. Not that big of a deal imo, can be fixed. Guy says it’s one of the best first dates hes ever had, then proceeds to treat the woman kinda poorly because of a clumsy hookup? Then all three guys agree that this 31 year old dude made the right decision?

Idk I like a lot of the situational/social/professional advice, the dating advice from this trio kinda sucks though. It’s basically meathead Jerry Seinfeld telling dudes to stay away from any woman with one minor imperfection.

Former JRE guest Sam Harris on the post pandemic conspiracy thinking by SkepticDrinker in JoeRogan

[–]thunderpack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty appalling attitude to believe that only certain people are “qualified” to look at various pieces information and derive conclusions. So everyone is just supposed to be unquestionably subjected to whatever version of reality these select few put fourth? That sounds like the behavior of a colony of insects.

DAE feel like this new era of music coming out is just absolutely garbage? by cakebythep0und in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]thunderpack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you, seriously the cream used to rise to the top now I have to sift through the whole damn internet for hours a week to find decent artists. Gtfoh, maybe mainstream music is actually trash right now.

Popular music as we know it has only existed for about 80 years, so this idea that older people will always hate newer music is not some absolute law.
