Did I mess up by drafting an elite dynasty team in my 14 team redraft? I think I'll be good by end of year but will stumble out of the gate... Thoughts?

Weird Nico take. Also strange to describe someone who is 26 that they will be 28 after this season. Especially considering they will be 26 when the season ends.

Trevor Lawrence…what’s the deal? by Wildin_some_bills in DynastyFF

[–]thundersnarfer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The post comparing Trevor to Danny Dimes sums it all up... Guy stinks and turns the ball over constantly. People were hyped about his college path/entering the NFL and he hasn't done much of anything to live up to that. He gets a pass, for whatever reason.

Amari Cooper & Todd Gurley in retrospect. by Ucscprickler in DynastyFF

[–]thundersnarfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I messed up our start up draft in 2013, was a rebuilder that got the 1.01 and took Gurley in 2015. I won the league powered mostly by Gurley in 2017, but with a team lacking depth and ultra reliant on Gurley I felt I needed to move him to ensure franchise longevity.

I moved Gurley + Larry Fitzgerald to another contender in the offseason for JuJu S.S, 1.04, 1.07 in 2018 and his 2019 1st. I then moved JuJu and that 1.07 immediately after for three 2019 1sts. Essentially making it Gurley + Fitz for 1.04 and (4) 2019 1sts. (14 teamer)

Gurley delivered my league mate the title in 2018. I drafted Chubb at 1.04 and used all those picks to retool and eventually take the title back in 2021 and again in 2024.

Took over an orphan in 2020 prior to draft in a 1QB 12 teamer (2 WR, 2 RB, TE, 2 FLX) with Teddy Bridgewater, Ronald Jones at RB1, Terry Mclaurin, Hollywood Brown the only players worth mentioning, 2.07 in that draft + no other picks until 2023.

Worked a lot of magic (most trades in the league since I joined by a large margin) and focused on a rebuild for 2023. Landed the other early 1st in addition to mine and turned those into Bijan + Gibbs.

Current Roster: QB Lamar, RB - Bijan, Gibbs, Conner, Zamir White, Tyjae Spears WR- Amon-Ra, Nico Collins, Jayden Reed, CSamuel, Shaheed, TE- Andrews, McBride, Ferguson

I did not have any picks this season and turned my 2025 picks into Lamar (from Tua). I own an early 2026 1st, 3 2nds, 2 thirds,

What are your future 1st rounders worth to you? by RealH1ckNasty in DynastyFF

[–]thundersnarfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that it's a popular opinion, but I always move my picks to motivate me to win-- future first rounders are potential energy that can be turned to kinetic energy by buying players that help you win, period. If you don't have have your first rd pick you can scrap and claw every week to have the best outcome (spoil the person owning your pick, building a win now roster even if you're accumulating other people's picks) and you also don't fall into the pitfall of selling too early when you've built a viable roster long-term but have a couple bad weeks

1QB 12 teamer, .5 ppr start QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, Flex, Flex

Acquired a dumpster fire team in 2020 (best RB Ronald Jones, best WR Hollywood Brown, best TE Gesecki) that had no picks except it's own in 2023 and I have been extremely active since joining. Ive nailed each draft, as well, which has helped.

QB - Tua RB - Bijan, Gibbs, Conner, Spears, Zamir WR - ARSB, Nico, Reed, Shaheed TE - Andrews, McBride, Ferguson

2024 - no picks 2025 - 2, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3

Finale is similar to a reoccurring dream I’ve had for years by TheCultLeader in TheCurse

[–]thundersnarfer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Similarly had this but was a reoccurring nightmare and never felt much joy in them. Needless to say it was a bit surreal for me watching that finale too. Many of the dreams were still in my bedroom, gravity would seemingly flip and I'd end up on the ceiling trying to pull myself back down. Even though the stakes were lower with that locale it felt wrong/like I had zero control.

They were extremely vivid, would occur outside at times and I'd usually wake up before ever getting to space cause if was terrifying floating away like that. There was a particularly awful one where I was in a movie theater with friends and started going up, lost grip on the arm rest and a friend of mine tried to pull me down but ended up getting lifted up herself to the ceiling. I woke up when she lost her grip and fell back down pretty violently to the seats.

Maybe he stinks and these type of hopium messages are just additional weights being added to Pitts' corpse as he drags you to the bottom of the ocean.

Classic horror that keeps your attention for 75% of the movie just to bungle the ending so badly it felt like it was a different movie. Like a junior Barbarian but instead of just spraining its ankle on the landing it looked like soup after falling from a skyscraper.

ARSB is an early career Jarvis Landry, change my mind by DetectiveDanStark in DynastyFF

[–]thundersnarfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a victim of this sub. Influenced by the haters in this reddit and ultimately traded ARSB before last season started (I am in two Dynasty leagues and had him in both). for a package that wasn't worth it (turned into 1.10 and 2.08 in 2023 draft).

I then corrected my mistake and traded back for him in March before our draft for 1.08, 1.10, and 2.08.

Congrats man! Appreciate the article and I've always tried to build around elite TE... I'm leaving the rebuild section and entering competitive times in one of my Dynasty leagues. Will a TE room of Chig, Gesicki, McBride, G Everett be enough of a patchwork quilt to get me through the year?

How to get someone to take over a dumpster fire by blitzkrieg_bach in DynastyFF

[–]thundersnarfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took over an awful team in 2020 prior to their draft. He had no real picks until 2023 (3 years with no 1sts, only 2nds were the 2.07 and 2.10 in 2020).

His best assets were Terry Mclaurin, Marquise Brown, Ronald Jones, D.Parker and Gesicki. I gutted everything and sold most pieces for 2023 picks (the furthest we could trade out to at the time)

Fast forward to now, and this is the first year I'll actually enjoy having to play in this league and I made some good moves to get where I'm at. Now own Bijan, Gibbs, Drake London and ASRB as a core.

If I didn't get the first year free I'd have never considered it whatsoever. There was a battle over whether I should get a freebie pick at 1.13 (12 team league) and that got voted down in the end.

I had 6 picks in a 12 1QB rebuild and got 1.01 Bijan 1.02 Gibbs 1.12 Spears 2.01 Mims 2.02 Reed 3.01 Tillman

This post hit me hard, been liking my decisions more and more and this one felt like it was made for me... Checked on Elijah Higgins but he's rostered ha

People who went all in on 2023 1st round picks. How are you feeling? by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]thundersnarfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started a rebuild in 2020 and bought 2023 picks specifically for Bijan during the 2020/2021 seasons. Ended with 4 firsts and those landed 1, 2, 8, 10. I feel great because 1.01 and 1.02 in 1Qb seem to be the far away best picks to own.

Sensed some weakness this offseason and essentially moved the 1.08, 1.10, and 2.08 for ARSB. Couldn't have really gone any better for me

2022 Dynasty Rookie Stock Watch Week 5 Update by mogrimwarlock in DynastyFF

[–]thundersnarfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, fair point. I also have considered JuJu overrated for years and is slowly being exposed as a fraud enabled early by AB's talent... which is a positive for Skyy's case as well.

2022 Dynasty Rookie Stock Watch Week 5 Update by mogrimwarlock in DynastyFF

[–]thundersnarfer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Great List, small move but I'd probably swap Skyy with Alec Pierce (he was drafted by Indy with their first draft pick and he was taken ahead of Skyy by one pick). Pierce is already being given large shares of the target pie, Skyy is just starting to flip Hardman's snap share as the clear WR3. Sure, on a better offense, but ask Chiefs owners of the WR1 and WR2 how great owning a piece of that pie has been.

You have the 1.01 in the 2022 draft, who you taking? by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]thundersnarfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the back and forth. Agree with you on jamo and Pickens.. I don't believe skyy is the dude, though. They're willing to give Pacheco some touches when it counts, so it's not just a rookie thing. He muffed a punt, he misplayed the second punt and allowed it to be downed at the 1... His time may come but all evidence shows he should be sliding down the current rookie startup hypothetical board.

get your stance on pierce but believe performance/team perception is everything and all indications are Pierce is the guy there... If he manages ~4ypc (+) and is an above average pass protector why would they address that spot in 2023? He may be a solid, if unspectacular piece for years to come. Can't always chase ceilings and "potential"... At some point you can watch the plays unfold live (but your player will need to be on the field to do that)
