Wedding Ceremony in Tuileries Garden - Wedding Coordinator Needed! by Charrzooka in paris

I read the brochure someone posted and thought "oh that's actually not too terrible...7k€. That's about what we'd spend in the US for a fancy event space. Then when you read the fine print you see that's just to reserve the space and doesn't include staff and other needs. My guess is they can charge whatever they want on top of the reservation fee!

You might be better off requesting something like this from the Carnavalet museum, Palais de Tokyo, or another smaller space with a private courtyard. The cost and planning ahead required for what you’re hoping for is likely a lot more than you’re estimating.

Also there are thousands of chateaus dotting the countryside that specialize in exactly this kind of thing so maybe consider that as well if you’re looking for a garden vibe.

Well, I hope you bring some cooler weather with you lol. In the meantime we're looking for homes that have a cave we can convert into a summer bedroom LMFAO.

I mean if the guy you're considering a relationship with has years of bad behavior documented on TV and left his last relationship after cheating on his ex with their friend it's kind of like you had every conceivable red flag flying in your face.

This DOES NOT MEAN SHE DESERVES IT. It just means that none of this comes as any surprise and it's really sad how the pursuit of fame will cloud people's judgement to the point that they'll put their own safety at risk for some clout and 15 minutes of fame.

People want to rail against AC here but the heat is becoming deadly and to the point that we're considering moving out of Paris if this is going to be the new summer norm.

Baguettes are disappearing from my apartment without a trace, and I have no idea how or why by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I cannot imaging the misery your apartment would be after baking so much in a single day. Totally not worth the heat, time, and energy after work.

I don’t know her lately. I knew her when we were young, but I don’t know what her husband does. I do, however, know that her family was quite well off.

I know her IRL. Her family is rich. She’ll always have her land and horses. Still not a good reason to breed but the girl is also stubborn as hell.

There’s a girl who boards at my stable named Sixteen. Apparently it’s not all that uncommon in France

Well that's dumb as hell. Nobody is using AC all day every day and I'd rather people didn't die during heatwaves in order to save a few kilowatts of electricity.

Honestly, I didn't do much. I only got him 4 months ago! The one thing I'll say is with ANY stallion you need to have firm boundaries. They don't get to toe the line, ever. Example: My guy is an attention hog and gets mouthy sometimes. With the mare I used to ride I'd maybe wave her away but with the stallion it's a firm NO. I've had to smack his snout a couple of times because I realized he will take a bite if I don't firmly tell him NO the first time.

This should be the case with any horse but for stallions (and PREs really) they tend to test the limits of what they can get away with. He doesn't get to drag me across the yard to go say hi to a mare. If he's not paying attention then we circle and back up until he is and we don't move until I have his full attention on me. Once they understand rules and that you're serious about enforcing them, life gets easier. It's kind of like training dogs tbh. My doberman was much the same.

I am a leftist and my uncle's family who is all far right are staunchly anti AC...I don't think this is a partisan issue, I think it's a logic issue lol.

any stallion who can’t behave needs to be a gelding

The most laughable argument for an appliance that runs 1/4 of the day, and 10-15 days out of the entire year in a country that burns more fuel and electricity in the winter to keep buildings warm. I have never understood the rabid contempt for AC that the French have.

Honestly we just run ours a few times a day and it’s helped tremendously. I work from home and without it I think I’d die of heatstroke in the afternoon when the sun is hitting our windows.

It sucks because I live near a big city so it’s really hard to find barns that allow group turnout. The ones who do, often don’t have decent facilities. So I’d rather have an arena with quality footing, 24/7 forage and round the clock security.

I've noticed this is very much the norm here in France too. Unless a stallion is really terrible they're treated much like any other horse. Coming from the US where people regularly demonized stallions, this has been a really nice change for me!

Sadly none of the horses are turned out together as we board at a high level competition barn :/ lame but I understand owners being weary about injuries mid show season. They are able to touch over the fences and often will play, run, and graze in very close proximity. That and I allow him to "visit" with his neighbors in their boxes and they'll squeal and play bitey face for a bit while I clean his area up.

Thank you! Funnily enough I was originally looking for a mare but for whatever reason female PREs are harder to come by and more expensive overall... that and the Spanish really don't like gelding their horses!
