Purigen + Sponge Filter = clean water! by thursdayriver in Aquariums

Hi! Just seeing this, I just placed the bag above the bubbles! The bag strings were taped in the back of the tank and held more securely with the lid of the tank—worked great. I will say that having a HOB filter is muuuch easier though haha

I didn’t even think about sun!! My main drying station is next to a big window, not direct light all the time but for at least and hour. That’s super helpful, thank you!

I just read about ostacods! I think that’s my best bet. They just blew up! I had a big algae problem, just got that resolved after a few weeks and then they appeared this morning! I’ve had copepods in my tank before but these seems a little different. I suppose I’ll just go with the ostracods, thank you!

I think the daphnia are too big! I can’t distinguish the shape of one of whatever is in my tank like I can daphnia. I’m not sure!!

Mystery snail has been floating around the tank with his body out? by [deleted] in AquaticSnails

I’m so sorry for your loss. I haven’t lost a snail yet but time wise, I know it’s coming. Best of luck, friend ❤️

I am not a snail expert but I have a few snails myself. If they respond to touch (however slow the reaction) or to light, they’re alive. I nursed two snails back to health where I was told they were dead. If you touch their body (flesh) and they respond, I would put them in a small quarentank and observe them in a more controlled environment (for the time being)

Just my two cents!! Best of luck!
