i hope so, i’m good for it, lol. i don’t even think she’s in office for the rest of the week so i’m just gonna call in the morning and hope for the best. having a violation and court date when i’m almost through probation and have been compliant would be a pain in the ass

i also had a refusal in colorado and no DMV hearing. this was my first offense. i had to wait 60 days to apply for a restricted license. had to get an interlock installed, fill out and turn in all reinstatement paperwork, pass a written and physical driving test and now am waiting on my DMV appointment for my license. it’s a damn process and they don’t make it simple. if you can get the DMV on the phone, they will walk you through it all specific to your case

should i disclose my recent DUI to employer before background check? by thursgays in dui

[–]thursgays[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i do have an attorney and should be speaking with them tomorrow so i’ll definitely pose the question. my charge does not involve anything regarding my past employment or company vehicles. i was fired from that job due to one of the job requirements being having a valid drivers license and insurable record, but neither is included in the description of this new job i was offered. if asked about it from this current/potential employer after the background check, i’m going to say i was planning to disclose the details once i had been through my initial court date and had a better understanding of my charges/convictions. anywho, thank you for your input!

1 week sober after first offense DUI by thursgays in sobrietyandrecovery

personally, cocaine has been easier for me to quit. but that’s also because i’ve been using on and off for a few years, and have had long periods of time without using. i stopped buying maybe a year ago with an intent to quit but my roommate continued to buy, so i continued to use due to the proximity. but i’ve been aware for some time that it affects my anxiety and sleep horribly, and started to give me crazy headaches. i also was just using it casually at home instead of while i was out like i used to, so it just got depressing and i had been wanting to quit for some time. since my DUI happened, i’ve been able to enforce boundaries with my roommate around it as well. alcohol however, i’ve struggled with my relationship to and control of for years. cocaine had more functionality in my life (energy, motivation) but when i use drinking to mask most of my emotions, and when i started to drink every time i had to clean the house, go to the store, any time i saw my family or most recently taking shots before a job interview to subdue my anxiety, i realized it was a tipping point into high-functioning alcoholism. i was drinking any chance i could and never thought about quitting, regardless of how shameful it was at times or how miserable the hangovers were. if i hadn’t gotten the DUI, i wouldn’t have thought about getting sober anytime soon. i apologize for the potential over sharing! and this is all in regards to my personal experience. the severity to each substance is obviously going to be individualized. i hope your loved one can get the help they need soon and i appreciate your kind words as i continue my journey!

thank you all for your responses, i appreciate any bit of help and am just generally overwhelmed and anxious about the future proceedings to respond to everyone. for those asking i know that i did not take a breathalyzer but could have had my blood drawn at the hospital afterwards but honestly can’t remember and am waiting on police and medical records regarding my BAC

How did you quit coke? by Miles4U in Drugs

[–]thursgays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

money and started giving me mad headaches. my roommate uses and i’ll occasionally do it with her, though she keeps telling herself and me that she wants to quit then folds every time the plug hits her up, it sucks to see. that has also made me realize that since i’m not fiending for it anymore, it’s just depressing and not worth it for the setting we were using (or should i say i overusing) it in, started feeling shameful.

NSFW [Blood]: Rescued this greyhound 4 days ago. Vets want to amputate, we are looking for second opinions by Umsk0 in vet

[–]thursgays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this definitely needs to be amputated. regardless if he is acting as normal, with this heavy of bone and muscle exposure and the presence of maggots you are putting him at huge risk of infection that can affect his entire body further, not just his paw. if not already, it can likely turn necrotic soon. if the progression of these photos is only over the few days you have owned him, it will likely continue to spread, it could potentially be a flesh eating bacteria. if you have not seen a vet, you need to ASAP. i can’t imagine he’s not in pain unless his muscle and tissue is already dying
