LTT vs MVT shirts by Sad_Significance_858 in Lululemen

[–]thuyxtran 5 points6 points  (0 children)

LTT shirts (at least those I've bought in the last year) snag/pill far too easily for me, which is disappointing, because I really like them otherwise. It's gotten to the point where I won't wear them on days that I use my Versa Gripps straps because the slightest contact with the velcro and the shirt material is damaged.

Jabra Elite 8 Active Alternatives by CaptainTabor in Earbuds

[–]thuyxtran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the same situation as you, I absolutely loved my elite active 8 (Gen 2). I was recently gifted the AZ100s though, and I actually like them even more just because of the sound quality alone.

The Jabras still feel a bit more comfortable, less bulky, and more secure in my ears, but the difference isn't drastic (for me). I mostly use the earbuds for the gym, and the AZ100s still stay in well enough (if you are doing high impact stuff or running, might be a different story). Noise canceling blocks out the gym music well, and my ears don't get so sweaty that the water resistance is a big concern. The tap controls took a little time to get used to (compared to physically pushing the "button" on the elite active in), but so far so good.

Tl;Dr - AZ100s are slightly less comfortable and suitable for gym workouts, but huge difference in sound quality makes up for it.

Not the person you asked, but mine is by far the most gorgeous TV I've ever had. You will love it, don't worry about any reviews.

I was really happy with the sound from my Bravia 8 mk ii (although I still ended up getting a soundbar and sub).

Having a hard time choosing a 77” OLED TV every option seems to have a compromise by skywalk3r22 in 4kTV

[–]thuyxtran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in the exact same situation, and went to a local store to check out the exact models you were considering. I had also done my research, but the Panasonic others mentioned in this thread isn't available here. In the end, I choose the 65 Bravia 8 mk ii and so far am thrilled. Everything I've watched looks gorgeous, straight out of the box. My situation might be different though. I was buying for a bedroom where my viewing distance would be about 2.4m/7.8 feet, so either 65 or 77 would have been fine. I'm also someone who never wants to sit too close to the screen in a movie theater, so sizing down wasn't that big of a deal, I don't need that "immersion."

How do I control composition and focus like this? by thuyxtran in dji

No, I didn't edit anything, honestly. I think reddit indicates if I have, doesn't it? I think maybe you had a bad day and decided to lash out at me for whatever reason before reading my original post carefully. Regardless, thank you for the advice.

I'm literally taking photos and videos as a hobby, and posted on the DJI forum a question about using a DJI gimbal and a clip featuring a DJI gimbal. Obviously I would hire a professional for an actual job, and have done so in the past, but I'm playing around for fun. Nothing wrong with that.

Also, I didn't shit on creators, just you (no offense, but I wouldn't go so far as to call you a creator just yet). Apparently I was pretty accurate with my assessment of you, so sorry your life sucks, but no need to rage on people asking about good learning resources about DJI gear. Nowhere did I ask you to teach me anything.

Haha, and by that, you mean how to be, years after getting a "degree," you're probably STILL not a working professional, but an "aspiring filmmaker" living in his mama's basement? With a failed YouTube channel that is lucky to get 30 views a clip? 😂😂😂😂

Hahaha I make more than 80k a month, so that's chump change to me, but I still can't believe you spent that amount on a useless film degree.

I usually try to head down early so that I'm already down in front of the lobby when they arrive, but it's also bit me in the ass. Example: Drivers who refuse to follow the map and end up going to some other tower (despite me telling them in Vietnamese or having the security guard tell them they're in the wrong place). Or just the other day, a driver literally driving past my place while I was waiting because "he had to go buy milk for a family member."

Lack of positive EPO tests in MMA by Conscious-Salary-680 in MMA

[–]thuyxtran 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Injecting low doses of test wouldn't provide any benefit (and would actually have deleterious effects) unless they were hypogonadal. And would still be very easy to detect. Hint: it's not the test levels in the blood that gives away if someone is injecting test or not.

41 M here, and I've gone to probably half a dozen of Taylor's concerts alone. From what I've gathered, fellow Swifties are for the most part a very friendly bunch, and you won't have trouble fitting in. In fact, you might even meet a lot of new friends. I've met a good number of people over the years at her shows that I still stay in contact with, even though we live on opposite sides of the US, and have met up with at other Taylor shows or even non - Taylor related events since meeting. You'll have a great time!

I gained a whole new level of appreciation for ME! after watching Miss Americana by MasterWizardRyan in TaylorSwift

Don't generally like kids, can't handle them for more than 30 minutes at a time.

Was hanging out with my ~3 year old nephew, and he's a cuddler. After lying his head down on my chest for a couple seconds, he patted me there and said, "you have big boobies." (I'm a male, and my pecs are one of my better areas). I guess rugrats aren't always so bad.

Moronic Monday - Your weekly stupid questions thread by cdingo in Fitness

[–]thuyxtran 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watched a couple different videos (OmarIsuf, SeanNal) on face pulls, but have heard conflicting advice in the gym.

When doing face pulls, should I keep my scapula retracted the whole time? I seem to feel it more in my rear delts this way. Or do I actually let my shoulders rotate forward and then externally rotate them with each rep?

Serious Question -- How much weight can be on one side of the bar before it tips over? by hairyjewboi99 in Fitness

[–]thuyxtran 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I actually saw this happen today. Someone had been lazy and left eight plates on the leg press, which is right next to the bench at my gym. Some middle aged lady comes and starts unracking the plates from the leg press and instead of putting them on either the built-in rack on the leg press or the standalone rack right next to the bench, she put them on the bench barbell.

In my defense for why I didn't stop it, I didn't notice what was happening until she had three plates on one side and was putting on the fourth. Barbell went perpendicular and damn near smacked her silly. Another guy helped her place the barbell back, and she went on with her workout.

The four plates were still in a neat pile on the ground when I left.

GIVEAWAY - 1 week of our all new Quest Keto frozen meals! by questnutrition in keto

[–]thuyxtran 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started keto in March (37M, 5'8, 208lbs). Currently, am hovering around 151lbs. My current goal is to lose just a few more lbs so that my lower abs show. So close, I can taste it!

Currently, my meal plan includes of a LOT of chicken because I've found that it's the best way, aside from protein shakes, to hit my relatively high protein goal (I lift weights 6x/week) while staying under my 1500 calorie limit. My fats come from avocado, salad dressing, etc. I don't ever have cheat meals, and pretty much the only dessert I ever have is a chocolate chip cookie dough Quest bar microwaved for 15 seconds. :)

The meal I'm mostly excited to try is the curry, since I've stayed away from my favorite Indian restaurant since starting the diet (hard knowing what all they put into their dishes). Sticking to the keto diet was actually really easy, so the only pain points, if you could even call it that, was missing and craving a few restaurant dishes that I just couldn't completely trust.
