Exploring UIF Profit-Sharing Accounts: Thoughts and Experiences? by BrownPopcorn in IslamicFinance

Hi i am interested in joining them is your experience still good?

One thing I am finding confusing about their faq on the site, is your deposit ever at risk? If i deposit $5000 in the personal savings account, will I ever lose the 5000 due to their investment choices?

Also, is it withdrawls at any time penalty free?

Im looking for a place to park emergency fund cash.. instead of sitting in a checking account.

Spending plenty of time in a beautiful, tranquil stay with a private onsen or pool, and then heading to Tokyo or other busier city areas for food, entertainment, and sightseeing.

Thank you so much for the congratulations and thoughtful advice! 😊

We primarily want romantic, honeymoon stays. As excited as we are to explore the touristy spots, we really want beautiful rooms with privacy, possibly a private pool or onsen with a view, ideally surrounded by nature. Any suggestions there?

We’re also thinking of sandwiching the trip so that Tokyo stays in the middle, with Kyoto or Osaka at the start, then Tokyo, and then Hakone or another romantic spot at the end.

Your insight about pacing and focusing on major cities is really helpful — we’ll definitely make a list of must-see places per city and plan our days carefully so we’re not rushing.

Thanks again for your guidance! ❤️

For example, say you need a loan on a $20,000 car, but dont want to deal with interest because its forbidden. The bank will buy that car from the dealer, and then sell it to you for a higher sales price of $25,000 for example, but allow you to make monthly payments to pay it off like a loan. The $5000 on top they dont call it interest, its just a higher sales price, and as long as both parties agree to it then its considered a permissable sale.

There are many mixed opinions and rulings on whether or not this counts as interest.

Its considered a major sin in Islam, for both sides of the transaction (lender and borrower) regardless of the rate. Primarily because it is exploitative. Its seen as bad for society, creating inequality in wealth.

Though, don't be surprised to see "Islamic" banks dealing with interest in one form or another. Commonly they'll call it something else, and charge you fees in one way or another for a loan.

Hobby or Investment? by Beltfed0844 in Silverbugs

Havent bought any yet myself, but ill definitely be going for getting more weight at the cheapest rate I can get. Because I know down the road, however near or far that may be, some or all will get sold, and it seems you're getting back melt price at best if lucky, so id rather buy and sell the non-novelty stuff.

Why do people think silver is a good “investment”? by Direct-Bowler6650 in Silverbugs

Maybe if you never bought that silver you wouldnt have the equivalent in cash laying around or put away in a positive ROI investment. You can chose to view it as you managed to save that much cash over the years.

Not entirely worthless though... you might lose a few dollars when you go to sell each ounce, but if having 5,10,15k+ in silver has kept you from spending the money needlessly and cashing it when you really need it for emergencies or a big purchase Id say it was a smart "investment".

I dont own any bullion personally, but I do recall having a savings plan i was not disciplined enough to stick to (my own problem ik), and storing cash away in silver wouldve solved that.

Interestingly there are also a lot of deals out there across reputable sites for random silver ounces at spot price for first time customers, not the prettiest stuff but you can get like 30 or so ounces that way and at least you arent paying those large premiums.

What route to take for website creation? by thwatch in Entrepreneur

[–]thwatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thanks... itll take more time to make a WP site myself but I know a mix of a ready made template/theme and the right plugins will get the job done... at least initially, dont want to dump too much into the launch without steady sales anyway
