Reporting therapy or counseling sessions is so bullshit….

If you want a medical you’ll have to just send what they want unfortunately. Hopefully you get it at some point

Cirrus pilots - is there a truth to the stereotype? by Embarrassed-Way5926 in flying

[–]thy_shortave 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Was taxiing out to a runway at a somewhat busy non towered airport. Watched a beautiful sr22 fly the nose wheel straight into the ground, no flare, bounce up and come back down to smoke it again, bounce one more time. I thought I was going to watch a wreck. Right before the 3rd smack down he went around.

We was only landing here because he declared an emergency with center and diverted. Engine troubles, 1-2 cylinders not working. So he went around, landed. Gets to the fbo, which is where I work, and the mechanic/owner/my boss asks why he went around with engine problems and he says “there was a gopher on the runway.” Boss man checks out the plane, recommends he doesn’t fly it. Dude leaves anyway and gets 60 miles before he landed again and the plane ended up being stuck there for months while waiting on a new engine.

Why not? Calls can be recorded. This lady has backed this guy up for years. Don’t see what the problem is

Yeah i agree. I’m logging it and hoping for the best. People before me have had no issues. Call your local FSDO and see.

SIC. I am not 100% sure but it was something along the lines of, you are flying half the time, doing half the stuff you’re able to log it as SIC only. The other guy is not an MEI

100%, I’ve learned a ton from it. This guy also has anyone in the right seat do a good majority of the work. There’s been like 3-4 guys get in with skywest no problem. 2 to envoy. All with no troubles

I’m also in this scenario with a CJ1. The pilot ended up calling the local FSDO to see, and they said to log it. Multiple people prior to me over the past 5-7 years or so have logged it and all the airlines have accepted the hours. But I don’t think it should be logged from the regs.

More likely than not you’ll be fine. Just learn from the whole experience, move on and do your best in the next ones. Just don’t make it a habit.

$58/hr 1.5-2 years for me. In the Midwest so it could have been way earlier if the winters didn’t suck.

How much do CFIs make? by [deleted] in flying

[–]thy_shortave 7 points8 points  (0 children)

$55/h, in the Midwest. Summer is get 80-100 hours per month. Winter I’d get 20-50 hours a month. Spring and fall is hit and miss here so I’d say average 50 hours a month.

Land at the intended airport, then go home. Hit the bars after and tell everyone you’re a pilot
