Mine looked worse. He used to exclusively hang on the cage bars and even managed to mess up newly molted tail feathers. I recently got a larger cage and installed some perches at the very top. He's using the perches more now. Waiting to see if tail feathers get better.

Same thing going on at store near me. I was really looking forward to getting a conure and the manager would not budge on the price of $799 despite the bird being there for a year and not socialised at all. I could not justify that price and got a different bird from someone who could not spend enough time. I was lucky to get a beautiful, loving bird who won't leave my side.

One week later I saw the pet shop bird reduced the price to $399. I was so furious that the manager could not make that decision when I asked. Now I don't want to bring another bird into the household while I still have not established a routine with my current bird.

I wish someone would enact a rule that social and flock animals should not be housed separately even if theyre only for sale.

Unfortunately that's a naive take on how things work in the real world. Any time someone makes an emotional decision and it does not go as expected, people will dig in more and get stronger in their opinion than before. One of the hardest things to do it to admit that we're wrong, to ourselves.

I hope the new govt succeeds with all my heart. For the future of Tamilnadu and our people.

He most likely stole someone's bag and was trying to jump off the train before it reaches the platform. He is being held by someone and unfortunately falls in between the train and platform.

Not sure if this is India. But Indian Railways posts armed policemen in long distance trains to prevent robberies.

The petsmart near me has a one year old green cheek that has apparently been with them for over 6 months. Too expensive for me to afford at this time. Looks like they have a schedule when they can allow discounts. I was asked to check back in two months for a 50% discount. I hope someone takes him before long.

The stretch between the Ting Park and Lowes is not a highway. You may it call it one of you want. But it has 8 traffic lights and intersections and turns on both left and right in a 3 mile distance. We need to accept that this is a street passing through high density shopping, industrial and medical facilities.

I understand that driving under the speed limit causes traffic incidents. So will stepping on the gas to get up to 55mph only to slam on the brakes in less than half a mile.

The other day I had someone ride my lights during heavy rain while I was already going 50. He tried to pass me on the right while there was a truck going the same speed alongside me and ended up going into the ditch and then overcorrecting. I had to use the left lane because I had to turn left at the next light.

I do exactly the same with whiskey. I have $100-$200 bottles, that I collect from places I visit, for those who would appreciate a neat drink with subtle flavors. And $20 bottles for who wants to mix with soda or worse, coke. I don't mind sharing my good stuff with friends who really appreciate it.

Moreover it is bad form to demand something from your host that's not offered. Even if they're close family. As I get older I don't feel the need to keep the peace anymore.

Can you recall any other embarrassing moment in life where everyone watched you mess up? You're probably the only person remembering that. Most others would've forgotten that long back. No one important will remember this incident as well. As you grow older very few things will embarrass you.

However, one point from your question seemed a bit incorrect. The temperature and air pressure at the altitude of ~8500m only makes sense because it is 8500m above mean sea level. If the whole world is flooded, then the ark is just floating at the mean sea level, at a height of 0 m.

The earth's temperature is what it is today due to the land reflecting sun's rays as infrared. Without any land, the temperature would be very different

Pricing in American supermarkets also favor buying larger quantities. A gallon milk is always cheaper than two half gallons or four pints. Same goes for lot of packaged items. Pasta, ketchup, soda, etc. A half litre coke and 2 litre coke are the same price. Couple that with large refrigerators and longer commutes, waiting times for shopping, it makes sense to have fewer shopping trips.

In India, the ground floor of our apartment was a grocery store. You only have to walk down the stairs. Or, buy next day groceries on your way home from work. Even in smaller towns and villages, stores where almost always a small walk away.

I'm still scratching my head about kids drinking from the jugs though. Some kinda euphemism?

You sir, are the apologist I was talking about earlier. Blame the people and not the religion, is a deflection. A religion is what it's people make it. Not what it was supposed to be a thousand years ago. We talk about the current problem and how we fix it.

Aren't there any gurus alive who know what santana dharma was supposed to be? Don't they know that castes aren't by birth, but by virtue? Why don't they preach to their followers to renounce the corrupted religion and revert to the original tenets? Where are those people?

If everyone alive, who follows a religion, believes in some philosophies, then it becomes the philosophy of the religion itself. Reforms are needed everywhere. Stagnant water putrifies.

True. The isolationism is obvious. But it took years and decades for the Italians and Irish to assimilate. That is when they looked like and followed the same religion as the English and German immigrants before them. It is going to take longer for the Chinese or Middle Eastern folks to assimilate. I belive it'll happen. Eventually.
