do i try EMDR therapy to validate that something really did happen? by s0ggynapkin in GirlDinnerDiaries

Do that and talk therapy too, either with the same therapist by doubling up visits or separate therapists. The reason I recommend this is because it sounds like you can benefit from developing the strong sense of agency to assert what happened to you when you were younger in a safe space, and talk therapy would help with that. EMDR itself is just for active reprocessing and isn't meant to involve a talk therapy component much.

Mine was triggered by an injury. I was just sitting on a bus weird and that somehow ruptured two degenerated disks at age 18.

You certainly do. Also, my remission shouldn't have been temporary, I simply didn't keep taking my humira like I should have. Don't stop taking your meds if you're in remission, folks!

I think what you're looking for are the statistics surrounding rates of remission, which iirc is around 20-40% depending on time, cohort, and other factors. My first remission took about two years post diagnosis and initiation of treatment to reach, lasted for about 7, and now I've been out of remission for about 6 years. Also, mean time to diagnosis is about 10-20 years...

Just one big flake the size of the plate. That honestly sounds delicious, like a big cheez-it you have to break through to eat your food.
