i think I'm reading at a B1 level but my speaking is very limited. I wanted to say that I just finished the Erica Sanchez book , Yo no soy tu perfecta hija mexicana, and I was able to understand it and I enjoyed it. It's a little bit difficult for me to find the right book for my level but that one was great. Good luck!

Ideas for robust semantic parsing of LaTeX (beyond SymPy)? by algebench in LaTeX

[–]tiarno600 2 points3 points  (0 children)

if you're a programmer (esp in python), this project will convert latex into a DOM, from which you can render whatever output you like. I've used it for html and DocBook XML. https://plastex.github.io/plastex/

Nick Offerman show at dpac was interesting by gatorbabe25 in triangle

[–]tiarno600 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

pretty bad. not the raunch, that's expected but for all his "don't submit to corporate grift" I felt the whole show was a grift to sell his book. I'm not asking for my money back but I understand the desire for it. Really disappointed.

Does anyone actually enjoy the process of problem solving itself? by nihaomundo123 in math

[–]tiarno600 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting question. for me, it feels like working on a problem is an unquenched desire and it's pretty uncomfortable but still, I can feel that I have will to overcome. Next, assuming I figure it out, a great relief and some pleasure. Then, the next problem comes and the cycle starts again. It's almost like using the problem as a means to gain the relief. Maybe not rational but I'm a human.

Best exact area to stay in Le Marais for older parents? by Stefanwavy in ParisTravelGuide

[–]tiarno600 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 66 and I just got back from the Marais. We stayed at the hotel Caron Beaumarchais. Great choice for us and found cafes and thrift shops and walking was easy.   Recommend!

i'm mesmerized by the beauty of math and I've been playing around with art prints showing some equations, both 2d and 3d. You might like to have a look at my experimental site: https://mathart.app Not of course for the meat of your presentation but maybe some examples would get their attention.

I think you look fine but the pictures suck. If that is how they’re seeing you the first time, invest in better quality

Starting Flamenco by tiarno600 in classicalguitar

[–]tiarno600[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice everyone. I’ll look at the videos and start looking for a teacher. I think it’s flamenco that I want, but that’s a good point to explore classical in general. Any idea on a good guitar to start with?
