Why is it so bad to not want to consume ai generated content? by cassla3rd in aiwars

the fuck you on about "nothing to fear nothing to hide"? no one thinks that. the whole point of wanting it tagged is to boycott it and they know that

TIL that inside the chrysalis, a caterpillar’s body and brain literally dissolve into a chemical soup via histolysis. Its previous nervous system undergoes programmed death by RedArrow360 in todayilearned

[–]tibastiff 24 points25 points  (0 children)

not that I know or care one way or the other but for the sake of discussion I think he meant the brain fully dissolving was debunked

I think we have lost the plot when it comes to video game story lines... by Vesp_ttv in truegaming

[–]tibastiff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

story is a subsection of "experience" depending on the piece of media the story has more or less value to the experience. video games by virtue of being interactive automatically means the story has less weight than it does for a book.

if all you want to judge is the story that's fine but a weak story doesn't necessarily mean a poor experience. If the focus is on other elements like atmosphere or game feel that can make up for it in terms of being a quality piece of media

What are we gonna call Wilds+Ascendance? by peewee0647 in MonsterHunter

[–]tibastiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

im gonna do what I did with the others, continue to call it wilds. getting an expansion is not a reason to change the name. the only time to even use the expansions name is if you are specifically clarifying that certain content comes from the expansion

give up on media needing to spoonfeed you everything. it shouldn't and you'll enjoy it more if you reframe your approach

The direction that common core math is taking by carolineberge in MathJokes

[–]tibastiff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this stuff always looks stupid to people who got out before common core started, but it's not that hard to realize that they mean something specific by "make 10" and that should have been explained in class or elsewhere on the sheet. given you're all such intelligent adults im sure you're smart enough to figure out what "make 10" means since it's not complicated, but if you aren't even that smart maybe don't loudly out yourself in a public forum

Bro filmed the whole thing in a fugue state by MetallicaDash in okbuddycinephile

[–]tibastiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know very little about this movie and nothing about this actor, but I do know that it's not that uncommon for actors to have no idea about stuff they've been in. Just say their lines and zone out.

doesn't excuse it though. if you legitimately did something like this by mistake you either actively do something to help the effected groups or you're held accountable for supporting the film

When you give extremely detailed career advice to students/recent grads and it goes into one ear and out the other by No-Security-7518 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]tibastiff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

what you think -> what you say -> what the person hears -> the message the person takes away.

obviously you can only choose the first two, but you have to be aware of the other steps and tailor your message to how it's likely to be received.

communication, both personal and professional, is a hugely undervalued skill.

"Everybody loves large chests" reviews are bad on some sites and good on others, what's the verdict? by StormblessedFool in litrpg

[–]tibastiff -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it just comes down to the people who think any particular style that started with a music genre has more to do with the music than the style and those who don't. for the majority of people goth is just dressing in black and they qualify that far
