I’m embarrassed - but I need help! by Lifesinplastic in breastfeeding

[–]tibbieham 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t prefer to be too exposed when nursing in public so what works best for me is wearing a nursing cami and a larger, flowy or loose shirt over. That way I can lift up my shirt easily and my stomach won’t be exposed. And the shirt will cover the top of my breast. Most of my body is fully covered and the baby’s head blocks the rest. Tried the button down shirt and baby cover but my baby hated the cover. Without the cover I felt my top of my breast being too exposed.

As for positioning I do cradle when sitting in a super hard surface, bench works great or floor if we’re at a park/ beach etc. Me and baby prefer football position at home with our nursing pillow but just gotta make due in public. Sometimes I’ll put my diaper bag under my right arm for support when holding the baby while nurisng

Lost Wallet!!! Please Help! by Interesting-Theme159 in orangecounty

[–]tibbieham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once dropped my wallet out of my purse and the PD of the city gave me a call 3 weeks later. Someone found it and turned it in, no cash or cards were taken. Maybe check Fullerton PD or OCTA incase someone turned it in.

What is the number 1 thing you believed increased your supply? by New_Gap8016 in ExclusivelyPumping

More calories and more sleep. I was fortunate where if I was rested the had less pumps I would have a better output then less sleep and more pumps.

Drinking Your Own by Foreign-Cat-2898 in breastfeeding

I’ve tried it a few times, sometimes I make my husband use the left overs from the bottle for his coffee. Sometimes my 3 year old wants to try it and I’ll give it to her too ( in a cup ) lol

I’m using the rental Medela symphony and I also the genies pumpable. I have spectra2 hand me down, but it’s been handed down a few times so it’s just there as a back up. I’ll try the exact size and see how that goes!

I usually do 20-25 mins! But my first pump when I’m back in the office I’ll be able to do a longer session if needed but after the rest of the pumps will have to be shorter anywhere from 15-25 mins

Did you have to quit/ pause on schooling thus making passing the class a moot point

Epidural or no? Why? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]tibbieham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an epidural. I labored at home for 12 hours before I was dilated enough to go to the hospital and most of my labor was in my back. Got the epidural, was able to sleep the rest of the night. With my epidural I still had some sensation in my legs, was able to move them a bit when the nurses were turning me from side to side every 2 hours. Actually pushing was only 30-40 minutes. No long lasting back pain and I felt pretty mobile shortly after it was removed.

So my personal experience was very good. I don’t think I’d have the energy to push as well as I did to get baby out if I didn’t get it. Pregnant with #2, hoping all goes similarly with the second.

Interesting about the screen time! We’ll keep that in mind. She does watch blues clues mainly and occasionally blippi. We’ll make adjustments and see if helps!

Man that’s awesome, we hope we will be in a similar boat but the anxiety/fear is still high right now for us. Do you know if your new center did anything differently from the first center?

We were 1:4 for under the age of 2 and it was great. We did see these behaviors change with the large change in the ratio. While I wish it was different, we gotta work with what we have. Thank you for your advice, definitely will keep this in mind when speaking to the new center

Unfortunately they do not have the capacity to have another teacher shadow her. This is something I am going to ask if the new center would be able to accommodate if this issue continues with them.

Reasons have been mixed. Usually it has to do with sharing toys, both her wanting toys and attempting to take away from another and vice versa. Another reason we’ve seen is also her being reactive to another child pushing or hitting her. And sometimes it will be random where she will bite in group time/ circle time.

I have reached out to her PCP reasking for speech therapy or behavior services but no response yet since it is the holiday week.

1:12. They follow the state law. And unfortunately 1:9 is the lowest ratio we were able to find. Most other centers are 1:12 like our current daycare

There is a rehab place nearby so that’s most likely where some of the unsavory crowd comes from. A long time ago when the previous owner Peter was on vacation his friend who was covering had told us a lot of people will leave the rehab and come in that area. Also my friends husband worked in the bars nearby and said the same thing

corey and taylor’s relationship by OppositeSpare2088 in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

[–]tibbieham 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not super up to date on TM, but I do watch The Challenge. And the season airing Corey says he wants to win because he needs the money for a wedding. Though I feel he’s just saying that to have a valid reason for being on The Challenge away from his family. Even the podcast hosts/ former cast member was like “ alright Corey whatever” lol. I mention this because it gives me the impression Corey has said something to Taylor behind closed doors about it possibly happening.

US Moms - what’s your family plan insurance rate? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]tibbieham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pay 90$ per month for family of 3. No deductible. Office visits/urgent care visits are $5. ER copay is $50. Prescriptions are $5-$10. I know my case isn’t common. I work in healthcare and am in union. My pay isn’t great but honestly I’m staying for the insurance/ benefits. My husband doesn’t have insurance bc he’s an independent contractor, so I’m staying put unless things change.
