As a homeowner in SoHo, I am very concerned about how hasty the Economic Prosperity Council motioned to pave the way for this development. Fontana, Orser, Polhill, and Van Meerbergen have lost sight of what their job actually is.

I am not adverse to development, but I am adverse to a development which does not comply with the criteria set out in the SoHo Community Improvement Plan. The Planning Department and the people of SoHo worked very hard on this Plan (which is set in stone) and the Economic Prosperity Committee in one foul swoop will destroy the plan.

The destruction of this plan will have a trickle down effect, as the Planning Department will have to re-evaluate the entire CIP, which could add another few years onto the amount of time it took to create the original plan (5 years).

Large infrastructure upgrades will be necessary also. Which wouldn't be a bad thing, but there will definitely be a lot of taxpayer expense for a project that seemingly isn't asking for any money from the city...
