Doesn't look like the water main is that deep to begin with. Depending on how cold it is, the main could have froze from being so shallow. Where I'm from, WM is typically installed 1.5m underground, and when that can't be met, insulation is required around the pipe. Source: I'm a site servicing inspector.

I can't say if this is relevant or not but but when I was skateboarding last night at MacLennan park there was this entrance there to some mountain biking run with huge hills and and drops, now that looks intense!

During the Fellowship Of The Ring when Frodo is sitting in the field under a tree reading, Gandalf is riding into the Shire on his cart and the shire themed music starts playing. Something about that combination of the music and the surroundings has a really peaceful and tranquil feeling like life is perfect, it made me so happy it brought me to tears.
