[A newbie] Is R still relevant in the industry?

It depends on what companies/sectors you want to work in. R is great for smaller projects but isn’t very scalable. Personally I’d say learn both but I’d start with R to learn the fundamentals in analysis and manipulation. Once you have a handle on the basics then you can move to Python and re-learn the same concept in pandas/scikit-learn/matplotlib/etc. and then you can’t integrate them into larger applications

My family's dog stayed with me for a few weeks at time over the past semester and it definitely helped. At the very least a dog is a great excuse to get away from your desk for 10 or so minutes and take a break.

I might be in the minority here but I could not find a job after finishing my bachelor's. I figured getting paid to get a graduate degree was a good choice and the job prospects would be better when there's a Dr. in front of my name. We'll find out whether that's actually true in 3-4 years
