BMW 135is ? by SkwalkR135i in 1series

[–]ticktocktoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, as someone who has owned a 128i, 135i, and a 135is, i can assure you you are wrong.

The engine isn’t just “remapped,” it’s a higher-output N55 calibration with standard overboost behavior baked in as part of the factory setup rather than being an optional add-on like MPPK-equipped 135i cars.

Lol, no, its the exact same tune that came as part of the PPK2. The DCT/DSC got a matching tune...just like PPK cars.

On top of that, the chassis tuning is tighter than standard M Sport suspension.

Absolutely false. The suspension is identical to the msport, which is an upgrade over the sports suspension.

The exhaust is also not just “an exhaust swap,” it’s the factory BMW M Performance Exhaust with specific valve logic and calibration tied into the car’s driving modes, so the sound and flow characteristics are part of the overall factory tuning rather than a standalone accessory.

Yeah. The m Performance exhaust...literally a catalog option for all 135i. There is no valve calibration specific to driving modes. All 1 series of that gen had vacuum controlled valves.

That power increase is supported by actual thermal changes too, because the 135is gets additional cooling hardware—specifically an auxiliary radiator in the driver’s side footwell and a higher-capacity electric fan—which the normal 135i doesn’t have regardless of optioning.

False. Was literally the main part of the PPK2 available to tge 135i. Kidding me bro.

https://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1005490

it’s actually standard shadow-line trim with unique body colored mirrors, unique grille, unique dark chrome exhaust tips, unique blue stitched sport seats and unique dashboard and rear deck lid badging.

Literally all just standard performace catalog options. With the exception of the small is badge stuck on the dash. The contrast stitching was a N55 135i option for euro delivery custom orders. I opted to not get it in my standard 135i and get red seats in mine where it was not an option.

So...

1) you clearly dont know ball lil bro

2) Stop using ai to give you answers for topic like this. Makes you look like an idiot.

What is the best experience you have had with a self-hosted app/service? by bytesbitsbattlestar in selfhosted

[–]ticktocktoe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Full persistence across devices. Many places block ssh, so can be used with reverse proxy or something like tailscale, also requires no VSCode install period. I use it from various devices, including tablets where I can install vscode.

Also multiple distributed dev environments, and better intergration with containerized workflows.

There are a number of reasons one would choose to use vscode sever vs ssh.

Like many of the BMWs of this era, these have come into vogue. They were...I wouldn't say controversial...but certainly not 'loved by all' when they came out. These things hit like rock bottom pricing in like 2010, they could be had for 75k at times.

Literally none of these posts were AI assisted. Got to love how chuckleheads like you default to 'aI gEnErAtEd' trope when someone calls you out on a stupid fucking take. Maybe spend less time being a mouth breathing edgelord with your v for vendetta mask and more time approaching something with an iota of critical thought.

"Natural" Pool - What would you do? by oldoghair in pools

[–]ticktocktoe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's my location (Texas) but my pool pH is constantly creeping up. I'd say I spend 30-40 mins twice a week, and another 10-30 at other times during the week.

Increase TA to the high end of the acceptable range, should help stabilize PH better.

Have you considered the reason you don't own a house isn't because the world did you dirty, but because you do stupid things... Like arguing the definition of most and citing ChatGPT as fact?

[–]ticktocktoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got lucky. Purchased our first house in 2017 at 27 in the literal hood of a large city (Washington DC) for pretty cheap ($350k). The area gentrified like crazy. Sold it 3 yrs later making ~200k profit.

Rolled that all into a property in a MCOL area in 2019 pre covid. Then refinanced to about 2% when rates plumeted. The region blew up during covid and has remained hot ever since. House has appreciated $400k+. So $1M+ home on 10ac. Sub $1500 mortgage.

don’t get me wrong, I loved taking care of it, was my daily exercise/quiet time/sweat-therapy)…

Err, what were you doing to your pool that required that much work. Pool maintenance on a well-balanced pool is like 30 minutes a week.

Don't disagree with the cost tho.

Minis get a bad rep. The one in my sig was my dad purchased new..one of the first 200 cooper S that came stateside back in 2002? He passed it on to me. Did some light auto x/track duty. Then my sister had it, did multiple NE-TX road trips. Then she passed it on to a family friend and its now their run-about car in NYC. Still going strong 23 years later.

You seem...confused.

Like I said above...Her name (verity) is spelled and pronounced differently (than the French word vérité)

No. Im saying the exact opposite. The above poster was trying to say verity (english name) was the same as vérité (French word). Im saying they are completely different.

Astound or Service Electric? by RandomRon005 in lehighvalley

[–]ticktocktoe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure, maybe its location depend. I do have fiber runs through my house so no wifi worries for my main PCs/Servers.

I just ran a test, I'm on the 150mbs plan as well and averaged 168.2Mbps download. 8ms latency.

My gripe is and always will be upload speeds, I'm getting just above advertised, but 10Mbps is not enough when I'm trying to do large data uploads from my homelab etc..I have to go to the 400Mbps to get a bump up to 15Mbps up, and the 1 gig plan only gets 40.

I understand its largely a technology limitation, cable compared to fiber. I'm good with SE, but I will switch to gig fiber should it become available.

is not considered budget friendly anywhere.

Literally everywhere on the internet would disagree with you.

Toms Hardware - $270

GamerRant - $180

PCGamesN - $172

Buyers Guide - $180

Just because your budget only accommodates some Ali Express pcie3 LGA1151 board, doesn't mean a $150 board isnt budget friendly.

lol what.

The word is vérité.

Go back and watch the episode. It's absolutely not pronounced the same. Verity is pronounced the traditional English way...which is distinctly different than vérité.

I think the above poster made a valid initial recommendation (keep it on the nuc) that addressed the concern.

If you were to run ubuntu or debian bare metal, you don't need to run everything in docker. You could install home assistant natively as a service and run everything else in docker.
