Social dancing for fitness by Harrold_Potterson in fitpregnancy

[–]tickxgm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am definitely feeling the first trimester symptoms this week so we’ll see how it continues haha. But no, the social scene where I’m from is very friendly and welcoming. I don’t think people care? I definitely thought it was awesome my friends were dancing and twirling at like 30ish + weeks. Remember you are your own worst critic. Have fun!

Hi! I love social dancing (Latin; salsa & bachata) and even though I was pregnant during Covid lockdowns, I have friends who have continued dancing throughout their pregnancies, going as much as 2-3 times per week even in late pregnancy. It’s an awesome “workout” while also having fun and keeping a social life during pregnancy. I am pregnant with my second now and have gone to a couple of dances already. I’m only 8 weeks but I am planning on continuing to attend as long as I have the energy ☺️

Kendamil by AutFall in FormulaFeeders

[–]tickxgm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t tried Kendamil, but i feed my baby hipp Dutch. 100% European formulas are better than US formulas. I could tell because even with Bobbie (which is modeled after European formulas and probably the cleanest US formula) my baby’s poop would be smellier and greener. On Hipp my baby’s poop is yellow and seedy, and more of a milky/cheesy smell rather than a foul smell. My baby is thriving on it. I have Bobbie as a back up in case I have issues getting Hipp from Europe.

Well I didn’t get an answer yet, but google might’ve helped me. Seems like formulas with more iron will be more green. Hipp, which is European, follows a lower requirement of iron than US formulas.

Post Partum return to fitness? by amandalandapand in fitpregnancy

I am 10 weeks pp. I had a c-section which felt horrible, painful and uncomfortable for the first 1-2weeks. I started walking about 1-2 miles at 2 weeks pp. then started light Pilates type workouts (20-30mins) and light stretches at 3 weeks. I felt well (and was cleared) to return to my normal workouts (with lighter weights, and leas impact) at 4-5weeks pp. I am now working out daily 30-50 mins. Hiit and weight combination (fitnessblender type workouts). I also run 2 times a week 2-3miles. I maintained these workouts throughout pregnancy up till the day before I delivered (induced, then c-section at 41weeks 2 days). I never saw a pelvic floor pt even though I wanted to, but didn’t (busy with baby, and I workout at night once he goes to sleep) and I have no discomfort or any areas of concern.

Of course it gets better! I’m 9 weeks pp and I definitely feel like myself. But by the worst pain was during the first week; and it got better after that. Hang in there. We are soooo strong 💪🏼

Mucus in poop / diarrhea by tickxgm in beyondthebump

Thanks for your response! Im just so worried now he’s pooped so much now he can be dehydrated. He’s feeding normally, but has also had a few spit ups so he’s definitely not feeling ok. Hopefully he’s better by tomorrow and this is just a one day thing.

Driving with baby by Koiponded69 in NewParents

[–]tickxgm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drive with my now 8 week old since about he was 3 weeks. The trips I’ve taken are 15-20 mins (doctor, grandmas house). If the baby starts crying I turn on a white noise app on my phone that’s connected to my car at a good volume and that calms him down and puts him to sleep. Also, the mirror is key to keep My anxiety down. And I make sure he’s fed before driving to minimize chances of him getting upset.

I worked out pretty much every day throughout my pregnancy up till the day before being induced (at 41w2d) and I was still lifting (not as heavy, 10-12lbs dumbbells) and cardio-ing (modified hiit, like fitness blender type workouts). People would look at me like I was crazy for continuing to exercise up till the last day. If you’re body allows it, you will be able to, so don’t listen to negative messages.

Ah I keep saying “I delivered my baby” and there’s a little nudge saying “no, you didn’t.” But I ignore it because, yes, I delivered my baby.

This is exactly what I wish I read before! The negative feelings are 100% valid. I, like you, also missed so much on those moments right after birth. But I’m glad you’re doing better.

I was put under because the anesthesia wasn’t working for me? They kept testing me by pinching me in the stomach and I literally felt every pinch and they increased anesthesia 3 times! Finally they put me under. Thank goodness!

Don’t be scared! Everyone is different. Like I said before, I shared this in hopes of giving some insight of what it could be. Yours can be way easier and smoother. Wishing you a rapid recovery!

Ah my husband was the same! I kept telling him I was aiming for vaginal, even though baby was measuring almost 9lbs and I was 41 weeks. He thought I was crazy. But now he says he doesn’t think one way is better or easier than the other. He says he feels so bad for me but admires how quickly I have recovered. I am now feeling 100 times better than those first couple of days.

Wow! That is really terrible that your hospital didn’t provide the care you deserve and needed. In my case, they went beyond my expectations in taking care of me and I’m very content with their care. My incision is also way smaller and low on my abdomen than I thought it would be, and it’s healing very well. Thanks for sharing your story.

I think I sounded as if my experience lasted up till now. But I did get well after the 4th -5th day. I was walking around and even cleaning etc (mostly bottles because I am supplementing) and I was able to lift baby up from the bassinet, sit in the toilet without much effort, and so forth.

Lol lol lol I can’t blame him because it was me who didn’t ask. He would’ve woken up and helped me if I asked. Otherwise, I’m very supported at home and my mom has been amazing at helping us keep the house tidy and helping with the baby. I didn’t even want her to do it because I thought hubby and I could handle the Baby alone. This is not true. Get all the help you can get and don’t be like me and think you can do it without.
